  • Days 1-2

    Bern & Lucerne

    Lucerne & Departure

Get your photos in early morning light before other tourists arrive. Visit Villa Carlotta right when it opens at 9 AM. Remember that many restaurants close between 3-7 PM.

    Venice

    The train from Como takes about 5 hours. Buy a vaporetto pass at the station right away. It costs much less than water taxis. Plan your gondola ride for early evening when crowds thin out and lighting is best. A past visitor noted: "Book accommodation on the main island of Venice proper – while Mestre is cheaper, you'll spend too much time and money commuting."

    Departure
