Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco
You'll arrive in Cusco and head straight to your upscale hotel in the city center. Check-in happens at noon, so you'll have the afternoon and evening to settle in, rest, and get acclimated to the altitude. This is a good day to take it easy, grab some food, and maybe walk around the immediate area if you're not too tired from travel.

- Day 2
Rainbow Mountain Trek
Your pickup comes very early, around 4:00-4:30am, for the full Rainbow Mountain trek. You'll drive through the South Valley and stop for breakfast in the Hanchipacha community before starting the hike. The trek up takes about 3 hours to reach the summit at 5,020m/16,470ft, where you'll see alpacas, llamas, and views of Ausangate Mountain along with traditional local houses. After spending 30 minutes to an hour at the top, the descent takes roughly 2 hours. You're back in Cusco by evening, so plan to rest after this long day.

- Day 3
Machu Picchu Full Day
A car picks you up from your hotel and takes you to Cusco train station. You'll board a luxury train with an Observatory-Lounge carriage and live music for the roughly 4-hour trip to Aguas Calientes. From there, a 25-minute bus ride gets you to Machu Picchu, where your private guide leads a 2-hour tour of the citadel. Lunch is a buffet at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge, then you'll take the train back to Aguas Calientes and transfer back to your Cusco hotel for the evening.
