  • Andalucia & Morocco, 10 days reviewer 1
    · September 17th, 2025
Our 10 day tour had us joining three different tour groups (I.e., first portion was with Vanessa from VPT, second portion (Morocco) was with Adil from MundiMaroc, and final leg was with Ofelia from VPT). Everything with VPT was AMAZING. Nearly everything with MundiMaroc was not. They didn’t follow the itinerary we paid for, they took us on a full day tour of Fes which included stops at 4 stores of their friends where we had to watch a presentation about their products. It felt like a day long infomercial. They almost left people at stops multiple times (I only saw our guide count to make sure everyone was there twice). There was NO communication from our guide - either about what the plans for the day were or where we were/what we were driving by. The bus driver was insane. Passing other vehicles including buses and big trucks heading into blind corners. The AC on the bus barely worked. That said, our guide there was very nice, this just may not be the job for him… I would rate the Spain portion of our trip 5/5. I would rate the Morocco portion 1/5. Also in Morocco 5/6 of us picked up some sort of digestion/stomach bug (even though we only ate and drank at places they took us). Five days after leaving Morocco we are STILL having problems. It’s impacting the rest of our trip because days later we must always be within a few mins of a bathroom.

Andalucia & Morocco 10 days, Oct.5-14, 2024 - [ ] Oct.5 - day 1: Chaotic and disorganized start. We were told to be ready inside the VPT office at 7:45am. We show up on time and the offices are closed! As people arrive for our tour and others, we are all standing outside, cold and in the dark, wondering what is going on. No information from anybody. Finally the office opens at 8 but no announcement is made, and people have to line up at the counter to inquire. We are told to sit and wait. At 8:15, our guide Vanessa shows up, calls our name and says to follow her to the bus parked a block away. No apologies for the delay. - [ ] Days 2 to 4: hotels in Seville (Silken), Cordoba (Exe) and Torremolinos (Sol) were good, comfortable beds, abundant breakfast. Our VPT guide Vanessa and driver Vladimir were great, friendly, clear directives, attentive to our needs. - [ ] Day 5: Hand off to Mundimaroc was disappointing! Javier picked us up at 6:45am in Torremolinos and we arrived at the port in Tarifa at 9am for an 11am ferry. 2 hrs early! Why did we have to leave so early just to be seating in the coffee shop of the port for 2 hours? This was not well organized. Then this woman Inmaculada showed up and crossed with us to Tangier on the ferry. In our opinion, she gave us the wrong instructions as she said to bring luggage upstairs with us and go line up for the Moroccan immigration right away. When we finished with immigration and went looking for a seat, all the best seats were taken. We could have sat down first, by the windows, and later done immigration as there was ample time during the 1hr crossing. Inmaculada disappeared when we boarded the ferry and came back a few minutes before docking. - [ ] Days 5 to 8: 4 days / 3 nights in Morocco with Mundimaroc. Quality of services provided by the tour operator are mediocre. Old and uncomfortable bus, could not go fast (all other buses and cars were passing us), tight seats, broken armrests, no wifi. In 3 days we had 2 different tour guides: Mohamed and Zacharias (plus one local guide in Rabat). - [ ] Day 5 - Tangier-Asilah-Rabat: we joined Zacharias, our new guide. We drove from the port in Tangier to Asilah where we had lunch and then left to Rabat. No time at all to visit Tangier or Asilah. We saw nothing of these cities. Arrived in Rabat around 4:30pm and had a city tour with local guide. Late check-in around 7pm at Hotel Rihab which was ok, nice supper and breakfast. - [ ] Day 6 - Fez: we joined our new guide Mohammed in Fez and spent next 2 days with him. We were about 21 total. Mohammed was unpleasant, arrogant, impatient, and unprofessional. He could not handle the group, did not set clear directives whenever we stopped, people did whatever they wanted and he just got frustrated. We checked-in at the Heritage hotel which was nice, good meals, comfortable room. The group was staying in 2 separate hotels and Mohammed excluded the 4 of us at the Heritage hotel from the nighttime activity of a dinner show. He only took the other group. We found this unacceptable and disrespectful on his part. - [ ] Day 7 - Chefchouan: was a nightmare of a day! We walked a lot, Mohammed never told us at what time we would eat or what time we would leave. He did not give us any time for shopping. We walked constantly. He then took us to a restaurant for lunch and service was so slow that it took 3hrs and only when it was time to pay they informed us they did not accept credit cards. We drove for many hours in that slow and uncomfortable bus. We arrived at the hotel Hilton Garden Inn in Tangier around 8pm, exhausted, probably 2 hrs behind schedule. Hotel was very nice, good meals. No city tour included so we saw very little of Tangier. - [ ] Day 8 - transfer from Tangier to Marbella. Long day but uneventful. Arrived in Marbella at 6:30, met our new VPT guide Ofelia and driver Pedro, checked in at the beautiful 5 star hotel Alanda. Delicious supper and great breakfast. No time allocated to visit Marbella or enjoy the hotel. - [ ] Day 9 - Granada - we left at 7:45am to Granada. Visit to Alhambra and Generalife went well. Checked into Los Angeles hotel at 3pm. Very mediocre hotel. The worst out of the entire trip. They cannot handle large crowds. Old rooms, average food, only 3 coffee machines for the hundreds of guests trying to leave early in the morning. 1 of the 3 elevators out of service. You need to find a better hotel in this beautiful city. - [ ] Day 10 - Granada - Toledo. Another early start as we had to come down with the luggage at 6:45am. The day went well and we returned to the VPT offices in Madrid around 6pm.
