Paid $1200 for two and only got transfer fro airport to hotel in Barcelona, hop on/off bus tour of Barcelona never took place then next day travel to Madrid on a bus with Spanish only speaking tourists and tour guide who was barely speaking. It looks like it's going to be not "in depth" tour but rather hop on hop off bus which is a quick on and probably without a guide. I need detailed explanation and timing so I can decide whether to keep or cancel this trip

As you say, it is a hop-on hop-off bus, with a recording, not a live guide. You can hop on and off, so it is up to you the time you spend on it. The complete tour is about 3,5 hours.

And that would basically be two days out of 5 days tour we got to plan on our own. Why are we paying you for that? What about Madrid? Will that be too a couple of hours hope on off bus?
