- Day 1
Frankfurt to Bangkok
You'll depart Frankfurt today and head to Bangkok. The flight gets you to Thailand, where the real adventure begins once you land.
- Day 2
Bangkok
After you arrive in Bangkok, a transfer takes you to your hotel where you can settle in and rest. Come evening, you'll hop on a tuk tuk through Chinatown and check out the flower market, trying street food as you go. The sights look particularly nice lit up at night.

Bangkok to Ayutthaya
Morning takes you to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho temple, where you'll see the famous reclining Buddha. From there, you travel to Ayutthaya to walk through the UNESCO World Heritage Site temples and palace complexes. You'll also visit a family business that produces traditional Thai desserts, getting to try fresh Roti Sai Mai.

Ayutthaya to Korat
You head to Khao Yai National Park for a two-hour ranger-led hike through rainforest. There's a real chance you might see elephants or gibbons along the way, and you'll pass some nice waterfalls. After lunch at a local house, you continue on to Korat for the night.

Korat to Nang Rong
This morning you visit Dan Kwian pottery village, then move to Charoen Suk community to learn how traditional cotton thread gets dyed orange using volcanic rock. Later you check out the Khmer temples of Prasat Hin Phanom Rung and Muang Tam before settling into Nang Rong.

Nang Rong to Khong Jiam
You head toward Cambodia today, stopping at Baan Tha Sawang silk weaving village to see naturally dyed silk production. From there you visit Wat Sa Kamphaeng Yai, the largest Khmer ruin in the province, and Wat Thung Si Muang with its Buddha footprint and wooden library. You'll stay two nights in Khong Jiam.

Pha Taem National Park offers you cliff views looking across the Mekong toward Laos, and a path down shows prehistoric rock paintings. You then visit Ban Sai Mun, a gong craft village where the tradition continues, and Ban Wen Buek village with its water channels flowing toward the Mekong.

You cross the border into Laos today and drive toward Pakse, the third largest city in Laos and an important trading hub in the south.

Pakse to Don Khone
Leaving Pakse, you drive through rural areas with rice fields and rolling hills before reaching Wat Phou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site from the Khmer era that influenced Angkor Wat's design. You'll then take a boat tour through the Siphandone island kingdom before arriving at Don Khone island.

Don Khone
A boat takes you to Ban Khone where you'll see an old steam locomotive from French colonial times. A tuk tuk then brings you to the Li Phi waterfalls, which have a wild, untamed character. After eating lunch at a local restaurant, you return by boat and have a relaxed afternoon.

You cross into Cambodia today and see Khone Phapheng Falls, sometimes called the 'Niagara of Asia'. From there you continue toward Saem for the night.

Saem to Siem Reap
An early morning drive takes you to Preah Vihear temple, finished in the early 12th century by King Surayavarman II (who also built Angkor Wat). On the way to Siem Reap, you stop at Koh Ker temple, one of the most important temple complexes that had been hidden in jungle for years before excavation.

Siem Reap
You spend the day exploring the former Khmer empire. Angkor Thom, the last Khmer capital, shows you the smiling face towers of Bayon Temple, Baphuon Temple, the Elephant Terrace, and Terrace of the Leper King. Ta Phrom temple stands overgrown with jungle trees. In the afternoon, you reach Angkor Wat temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You travel to Tonle Sap, Southeast Asia's largest freshwater lake, for a boat trip to a floating village. There you get to see how locals live in floating huts. Heading toward Phnom Penh, you'll stop at Kampong Kdei Bridge, once known as the world's longest stone arch bridge.
