Itinerary
- Day 1Mexico CityYou'll arrive in Mexico City whenever works for your schedule and have the afternoon and early evening to look around on your own. Later, you'll meet up with your group and tour leader before heading out to check out some of the city's best-known taco spots in the historic center. You'll try pulque and sample smoky mezcal as the evening winds down. Included Activities- Tacos, Pulque & Mezcal Crawl in the Historic Center of Mexico City
 
- Day 2Mexico CityStart with a local food and history tour at San Juan Market, where you'll see exotic foods from all over Mexico. After that, you'll visit a chocolate museum to learn about chocolate's history and try making your own traditional version. Grab lunch at a traditional canteen, then you'll have free time to wander around the city. There's an optional group dinner and gathering in the evening if you'd like to join. - Meals

- Day 3Mexico City to PueblaAfter breakfast and checking out, you'll head to Teotihuacán, Mexico's largest ancient city with a UNESCO designation. You'll get a guided tour and have a buffet lunch there, then visit a pulque farm to see how it's made and sample local products. Later, you'll stop in the Magical Town of Cholula to walk around the world's largest pyramid, check out the local market, and try regional food. By evening, you'll be in Puebla, another UNESCO city known for its cathedral and many colonial churches. An optional group dinner happens in the evening. - Meals

- Day 4PueblaYou'll walk through Puebla's historic center seeing colonial mansions, the 16th-century cathedral, the green Zócalo square, and the 17th-century Biblioteca Palafoxiana. Next, you'll visit the Museum of Popular Art in the Ex-Convent of Santa Rosa, where mole poblano supposedly originated. In the afternoon, you'll get hands-on with a local chef preparing mole, then continue your walking tour with a stop at one of Puebla's oldest canteens for traditional liquor tastings. An optional dinner and group gathering happens later. - Meals

- Day 5Puebla to Oaxaca CityYou'll start with a guided walk through the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO site, where you'll see tall columnar cacti and old agave plants while learning about rare species. You'll have a meal featuring native ingredients like edible insects and wild cactus. Then you'll visit artisanal salt mines to learn about traditional salt-making. Later, you'll travel to Oaxaca City for a guided walk through the historic center discovering architecture, local culture, and colorful markets. Optional dinner with other travelers in the evening. - Meals

- Day 6Oaxaca CityYou'll have a traditional Oaxacan breakfast at one of the city's most iconic markets. From there, you'll go to Monte Albán, one of Mexico's major archaeological sites with UNESCO recognition, to see the ancient ruins and learn their history. After your guided tour and buffet lunch, you'll keep exploring Oaxaca with your tour leader. In the late afternoon, you'll take a pre-Hispanic cooking class learning to make traditional dishes. An optional evening gathering at a local bar is available. - Meals

- Day 7Oaxaca City to San José del PacíficoYou'll visit San Martín Tilcajete, a town known for colorful hand-carved wooden creatures made by local artisans, and walk through several workshops and the town center. Then you'll travel to Miahuatlan, a regional mezcal production hub, with an optional lunch stop along the way. You'll tour a family-owned mezcal distillery to see production and taste different types. After that, you'll continue to San José del Pacífico, a mountain village in the fog that feels like it touches the clouds, with great views of forests and valleys. You'll take an orientation walk and watch a beautiful sunset from your place. Optional dinner and group gathering in the evening. - Meals

- Day 8San José del Pacífico to HuatulcoAfter breakfast and checkout, you'll take a scenic mountain road toward the coffee region of Pluma Hidalgo, where the local Pluma Gourmet coffee is grown. You'll visit a family-run coffee farm for lunch featuring local specialties and learn about coffee production. Then you'll go to Pluma Hidalgo itself, a small town at 2,500 meters elevation. You'll walk through the compact center and have local coffee with waffles. Later, you'll head to Huatulco, a coastal region known for beaches in sheltered bays along the forested Pacific. You'll take an orientation walk in La Crucecita's center. Optional dinner and group gathering in the evening. - Meals
