- AJosie Reyonlds· July 18th, 2023We had a fantastic tour in Japan! Our guide Kaito was the best. We spent two days with him and he took us to visit mt. fuji, seneoji temple, Meiji Jungu shrine (my favorite), and a fish market. We got to taste so many wonderful foods in the market. Kaito often talked to our 9 year old son, which made him feel included. That was very good. We also ate the best Sushi with his help, fresh and delicious. We know that we can hardly have it when we return home. Kei-san was our guide in Kyoto. With him, we learned a lot about Japanese history and culture through visiting temples and shrines. He adapted to our needs flexibly and was very knowledgeable. Just one point, he looks a bit serious. The hotel accommodation in each city is good in locations, but it would be better if the rooms are larger for we are a family of 3. I am not complaining. You already did a great job!Show moreAgate Travel commented on this reviewDear Josie, we greatly appreciate your detailed review of the wonderful journey! Your satisfaction of the journey and our service is what we strive for. We look forward to serving you on your next vacation. Best regards.Trip date: May 2023Review collected by Agate Travel
- ACharlie Bennett· July 18th, 2023A very well rounded tour! Beautiful sceneries, interesting historic facts and legends, yummy food, and fantastic tour guides. We were able to explore the highlights of Mt. Fuji and Hakone, and we were fortunate with the weather. Everything was well organized. We customized this trip to add some free time and that was really a very smart idea. We have learned from the guide how to navigate the subway system and taken an adventurous day to travel independently in Tokyo. Thanks to the guide who offered us tips and advice. We had a very smooth day. All hotels were in 4 star level, good enough for tourists.Show moreAgate Travel commented on this reviewThank you for taking the time to share your comments with us. - AJesse Hart· July 18th, 2023We booked a private tour for our family of 4, and we had a great time on this tour. Yoko, our tour guide in Tokyo, was professional, considerate and very well informed. She always shared her knowledge excitingly to make our trip enjoyable. She also gave us tips to help us navigate the rest of our stay in Tokyo. Tomo is also a perfect tour guide in Kyoto & nara. She is a good photographer and offered to take photos for us along the way. Her English was not as good as Yoko, but that’s fine, no problem for us to understand. We had a free day in Osaka before leaving. The tour consultant Emily recommended some places to explore. The hotel is in a very convenient location, so it was easy for us to get around. All in all, I love Japan and I like Japan food, Sushi & Teppanyaki. This tour is highly recommended!Show moreAgate Travel commented on this reviewDear Jesse, how kind of you to leaving us with this detailed post! Asked on February 12th, 2025Could you please provide pricing for both hotel categories and transport options? We would also appreciate your recommendations on the ideal number of nights per location and which areas are best for day trips instead of overnight stays.
- Agate TravelOperator•Written March 2025
I am sorry for keeping you wait. We mainly arrange private tour with guide and public transportations. But it will be too hot in Japan in July and August. People easily get sunstroke and be in hospital. So for your tour, I would like to suggest you use private tour guide and private driver. The cost is around USD17500 per person in total. 3-4 stars hotels are included.

Asked on February 4th, 2025Want to create a trip to Japan for a family of 4. 5 star hotel, private car and english speaking guide.
- Agate TravelOperator•Written February 2025
Thank you for your interests in our tour. Do you prefer the same itinerary with 5-star hotels? The hotel room rate for 5-star hotels are quite high in Japan. April is the high season now and the room rate will be increased if you book late. So I would like to suggest you book the hotels on your own as soon as possible. I will only arrange the tour for you. For your reference, the tour price will be USD3029 per person without hotel.

Asked on November 26th, 2024I want to make a trip around Japan that includes all the famous cities excluding Tokyo. I want to include also Kamakura. We have 3 boys at ages 11,7, and 4. We are not asking for hiking or walking for hours. Instead, fun activities and landscapes, food, tourist attractions, and kids activities are preferrable. We dont prefer any wine making or related liquor shop visits.
- Agate TravelOperator•Written November 2024
Do you have preferred destinations? The price is about USD300 per person per day for the private tour in Japan without hotel accommodation.

Asked on November 12th, 2024I want to start in Fukuoka, but it is not set in stone. I just need to have us in Tokyo by the evening of April 17th to be able to go to the convention on the 18th.

Traveler•Written November 2024I just need help making it happen! I have an itinerary I made including cities: Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Matsuyama (Dogo Onsen), Naruto (lunch/whirlpools), Kobe (dinner), Osaka, Kyoto, Hokone (fuji), Tokyo. Could this be a custom trip with hotels included? Or would I need to just do one of the premade trips?
- Agate TravelOperator•Written November 2024
April is the high season for Japan and the hotel room rate are quite expensive. For your reference, the average hotel room rate is about USD150 - USD200 per person per night for 4 star hotels. Some hotels are already fully booked now. So I do suggest you check the hotels on your own and try to book by yourself. The eariler you book the hotels, the better price you could get.
- K
Kristen
Traveler•Written November 2024I am fine with 3 star hotels.
