Kathmandu
You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport and get transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. After you settle into your room, your guide will meet with you for an orientation covering what to expect from the tour. This is a good time to ask any questions about your itinerary and get yourself ready for the bird watching adventures coming up.

Kathmandu
This morning you're heading to Phulchowki, which sits at 2759m and is about 18km southeast of Kathmandu. You'll spend the day bird watching here and looking for different species. After that, you'll check out the Godavari Royal Botanical Garden to watch for butterflies before making your way back to Kathmandu for the evening.

Kathmandu
Early morning you'll drive to Shivapuri National Park to observe various bird species in their natural habitat. The park has 318 identified bird species including the Golden-throated Barbet, Large Hawk Cuckoo, and Collared Owlet. By afternoon you'll head back to Kathmandu.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
You're leaving Kathmandu early and driving about 7 hours on the Prithvi Highway toward Pokhara. Along the way you'll see mountains, terraced hillsides, and rivers. By evening you'll arrive at your lakeside hotel in Pokhara and settle in for the night.

Landmarks Fewa Lake - Day 5
Pokhara
Spend the day bird watching and exploring around Fewa Lake. You'll look for species like Besra, Red-thighed Falconet, various harriers, vultures, pheasants, ducks, gulls, and terns. Keep an eye out for laughing thrushes, sunbirds, orioles, and waders throughout the area.

Pokhara
Another full day of bird watching, this time near Rupa Lake. You'll search for Lesser Racket-tailed Drongo, magpies, mountain thrushes, various tesias and warblers, flycatchers, robins, babblers, munias, and whitethroats as you walk around the lake.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
The drive back to Kathmandu takes about 6 hours along the Prithvi Highway. Once you arrive in the evening, you'll enjoy a farewell dinner that includes a Nepali cultural dance performance, giving you a nice taste of local traditions before you leave.

Kathmandu
