Itinerary
- Day 1
Trujillo
You'll arrive in Trujillo and get settled at your hotel, then have the morning to yourself. After lunch, head out to the Temples of the Sun and Moon to see the original friezes and murals that cover the walls. From there, make your way to Chan Chan where you can walk through Huaca Arco Iris, check out the site museum, tour Nikan Palace, and see the Huanchaco Spa with its traditional reed boats that local fishermen still use today.

Trujillo to Chiclayo to Lambayeque
Starting early at 6:00 AM, you'll drive north toward Chiclayo. The Valley of the Pyramids of Túcume comes first, where 26 adobe pyramids sit scattered across the desert landscape, all built as royal homes and centers of power during the Chimu and Inca periods. Then you'll head to Lambayeque to explore the Royal Tombs of the Lord of Sipán Museum, which showcases Mochica culture through its architecture and displays. After the museum, tour Huaca Rajada where the tomb was originally discovered. By evening, you'll head back to Trujillo.

Trujillo
After breakfast you'll travel to the El Brujo Archaeological Complex in the Chicama Valley. Spend time at Huaca Cao, a ceremonial center with brilliant polychrome murals and the tomb of the Lady of Cao from the Moche civilization. Tour the Cao museum to see the colorful murals including scenes from the Ceremonial Plaza with prisoners and the Moche Calendar. Then climb up to the compound where the Lady of Cao was buried, decorated with murals featuring the god Aia-Paec and various sea creatures. You'll return to your hotel in Trujillo by evening.

Trujillo
Following breakfast, you'll transfer into the city for a tour of Trujillo, the capital of La Libertad. See the main plaza and the Freedom Monument along with the buildings that surround it, including Trujillo Cathedral. The Urquiaga House comes next, now operating as a museum with pre-Columbian, colonial, and Spanish independence pieces on display. Pass by Itaurregui Palace and Plaza El Recreo to view the original Trujillo fountain made of Italian baroque marble. You'll have some free time to explore on your own or rest before heading to the airport or bus station for your departure.
