- HMHeather· November 5th, 2022A disorganised rip-off. We thought we were getting the same tour guide with us for the 5 days. All this 'tour' is someone co-ordinating different tours with different guides and different groups of people. We were not met at the airport by their representative to explain the tour, nobody was there. Eventually a non-English speaking taxi pulled up & literally dumped us at the hotel & drove off. We were charged a fortune for the upgraded hotels only to find out they were charging more than the entire price for just the upgrade portion. Everything is done to cut costs. The upgraded hotel at Cusco was our biggest disappointment as we paid US$370 for the upgrade let alone the money already paid. They put us in a lower grade hotel so our expectations for the price were not met. It caused a lot of anxiety, anger, harrassment which is frankly why you pay to do a tour and not organise it yourself. We never knew when we were being picked up for the tours. We had to keep asking the guide of the moment to call the Agency to find out when we would be picked up. We repeatedly asked for an itinerary but they would only supply that which is on the internet. That says you are going to Rainbow Mountain for the day, it doesn't say you will be picked up at 4.45am, driven to a restaurant for a sub-grade breakfast (when your hotel already provides breakfast), taken to Rainbow Mountain, back to the same restaurant for lunch (really!! lots of kick backs here obviously) and then returned to your hotel by 2pm! Why? Pick your poor guests up at 8am at a civilised hour. The crowds are already at the mountain when you arrive after the hour stop for breakfast anyway so no gain for the paying passengers for the early start. In all this tour cost more than most of the other tours out there and we got way less than we expected. Stay away is our advice.Show moreTrip date: September 2022

Asked on April 21st, 2025I would like to know whether your tour is still available for 2 persons on 27, 28, or 29 April
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written April 2025
Unfortunately all spaces for visiting Machu Picchu are sold out for your travel dates (April and May month), we apologize by the bad news.
- H
Hannah
Asked on April 14th, 2025I would like to extend the 'Journey of Colors' tour either before or after with an additional tour. I'm interested in options like Caral, Titicaca Lake, or Amazon. It's important that the trip ends where a return flight is easily possible.
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written April 2025
Yes, we can extend your trip to Puno, Titicaca Lake or the Amazon in Puerto Maldonado. In order to give an offer and confirm you can depart the 5-day Journey of Colors to Machu Picchu, we would like to know when are you planning to travel? We need to check the Machu Picchu activity before confirming your departure.

Asked on April 8th, 2025Do we pay $230 for additional services in the destination? Is this separate from the $719 USD total tour price? Also, is Machu Picchu entrance not included as an extra tour? What about the guide - the brochure mentions English speaking, but our tour shows Spanish language. How will the group or guide language work?
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written April 2025
The tour cost is $719.00 per person with a minimum of two travelers. The $230.00 is the single supplement fee for solo travelers to have private rooms. We include Machu Picchu entrance in all our packages. Our guides are native Spanish speakers but also speak English. If there are English-speaking travelers in the group, the guide will explain in both languages. Important note: Machu Picchu entries are sold out until after the second week of June (Circuit 3).

Asked on March 25th, 2025Are Machu Picchu tickets guaranteed on this tour? I can see the dates on sale that work for us, but everything I have read says that if tickets are not available on the official website, there's no other way to get them (other than queueing the day beforehand in Aguas Calientes).
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written March 2025
All of our tours we offer include Machu Picchu tickets as long as there are availability. So, before comfirming, we always look up the availability. However, unfortunately all the tickets are sold out after the first week of April and we can not confirm any tour. The circuit in Machu Picchu avilable in the first week of April is Circuit 3 and that is our best option we can offer to you.

Asked on August 29th, 2023Would like to know if it is possible to change the accommodation to JW MARRIOTT EL CONVENTO CUSCO and Aguascalientes Marriott Hotel. How much would it cost?
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written August 2023
Sadly, the Marriot hotel does not work in Aguas Calientes, but there is a Marriot hotel in Cusco. We usually work with Palacio del Inka, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Cusco, and Machu Picchu Inkaterra Pueblo in Aguas Calientes.
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written August 2023
The extra cost for the upgrade to 5 stars hotel is USD $778.00 per person. Keep in mind the room is based on double occupancy. This extra cost would be paid in cash USD once you arrive in Cusco.

Traveler•Written February 2024Is it possible to book a tour for 2 people with 2 single rooms, 5 star hotels in Cusco and Aguas Calientes, and add one more night at the beginning in Cusco?
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written February 2024
The extra cost for the upgrade to 5 stars hotel in Cusco and Aguas Calientes + an extra night in Cusco, and each one with an individual room (Single rooms) is US$ 888.00 per person. This extra is just for the upgrade to 5 starts hotel plus an extra night in Cusco and single rooms. The payment of the extra cost will be done in CASH upon your arrival to Cusco.

Asked on April 13th, 2023Is there any possibility, this trip could be customized? Two of the adults wanted to hike to Machu Picchu starting in Aquas Calientes while the other 3 of us would do something else and meet the other 2 up at Machu Picchu.
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written April 2023
If you are referring that all of you want to do this package, however for the Machu Picchu full day, 2 of you want to hike since Aguas Calientes and the other participants take a tourist bus from Aguas Calientes (skip the hike) and all of you meet in the entrance of Machu Picchu for the guided tour into the Citadel, definitely we can do it, and our tour guide will organize the details with you.

Asked on August 18th, 2022I'm interested in you 5 days to colors of Machu Picchu tour. Can you tell me how many miles are walked each day of the tour? I will be about 5 months pregnant at that time. Do you think this tour would be okay for a 5 month pregnant woman? Have you had pregnant women on this tour before? Or older adults? Small children? Is the tour very strenuous?
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written August 2022
The 5 Day Journey of colors to Machu Picchu tour is a trip that does not need much effort. At Rainbow Mountain, you must climb until 5000 o.s.l. so we recommend not doing it. Anyways you must consult your doctor.

Asked on August 7th, 2022How difficult is this tour? Are we able to pay for a horse ride if we are too exhausted at the rainbow mountain?
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written August 2022
In case you require to use a horse for the Rainbow Mountain tour, you can rent one at the starting point, the payment needs to be in cash soles, and the cost is 90 - 100 soles. You can ask for help to the guide a previous day of the tour.

Traveler•Written June 202225 Dec is Christmas so like to know how the tour is handled. We do not prefer to know after we book and stuck as we cannot afford not to go in tour or extend our trip
- Inkayni Peru ToursOperator•Written June 2022
In December the archeological sites and others like hotels and transportation are operated as usual without any problem. However, the cost of some services increases. The itinerary will be operated as usual, in case there will be some modifications that are unexpected, we will inform you previously. If you would not like to deal with this kind of situation, we recommend you check in the first week of december.
