Itinerary
- Day 1
Kravica - Pocitelj - Mostar
Start at Medjugorje, a major pilgrimage destination in Europe. From there, head to Kravica waterfalls where you can swim in the natural pool and grab lunch at the waterside restaurant. Next, walk through Pocitelj's cobblestone streets to see the Ottoman fort and 16th-century mosque. You'll finish the day in Mostar, where you're staying for two nights with time to wander around on your own.

Mostar
After breakfast, travel to Blagaj, a UNESCO Tentative Listed site with a 16th-century Dervish monastery built right at the cliff base. You'll tour Blagaj Fort, which once housed King Herceg-Stjepan and offers great views across the town and river valley. Return to Mostar in the afternoon and use the rest of your time to explore the city at your own pace.

Stolac - Vjetrenica Cave - Zavala - Trebinje
This morning you'll visit Radimlja, a medieval necropolis with stone tombstones from the 15th and 16th centuries. Continue to Stolac, one of Herzegovina's oldest towns with Ottoman architecture along the riverside. Next comes Vjetrenica Cave, Bosnia's largest cave with remarkable biodiversity. You'll also see Zavala monastery with its cave setting, then drive to Trebinje for a two-night stay.

Trebinje
After breakfast, visit Tvrdos monastery, a 15th-century Serbian Orthodox site known for its winemaking heritage going back centuries. Tour the historic wine cellars, including one from the 15th century beneath the monastery itself, and see the award-winning wines stored in 100-year-old oak barrels. Back in Trebinje, you'll have free time to check out the Arslanagic Bridge, Hercegovacka Gracanica monastery, and the Old Town.

After breakfast, head to Dobricevo Monastery, a 13th-century Serbian Orthodox complex that was relocated to Bileca Lake to protect it from flooding. The site holds important medieval and spiritual heritage. Later that day you'll travel to Sarajevo, Bosnia's capital, where you're settling in for two nights with time to explore the atmosphere, pedestrian streets, and local food on your own.

Sarajevo
Spend the day in Sarajevo experiencing its mix of Ottoman and modern architecture. You'll walk through pedestrian streets and see how the city blends religious and cultural traditions. Take time to try traditional cuisine, do some shopping, and find local spots that interest you. This is your chance to really get a feel for this colorful Balkan capital at whatever pace you prefer.

Bobovac - Zenica
Visit Kraljeva Sutjeska, a historic village with key medieval sites including a 14th-century Franciscan monastery that has a museum and rare library. Then check out Bobovac, where Bosnian kings had their royal residency and which was the last stronghold before the Ottoman conquest. You'll see castle ruins and the royal mausoleum before continuing to Zenica, where you'll stop for one night.

Travel to Vranduk, a 14th-century village positioned in a canyon along the Bosna River. You'll see the well-preserved medieval citadel, which is now a protected architectural ensemble and national monument. Continue on to Doboj, one of Bosnia's oldest cities and a major urban center in northern Republika Srpska. You'll be staying for two nights here with time to check out restaurants, taverns, and shops.

Maglaj
Start with Doboj Fortress, a recently renovated 13th-century castle that now has restaurants, shops, and displays of medieval weapons. The stone fortress shows both Romanesque and Gothic architecture and has survived being burned and ransacked at least 18 times. Later, visit Maglaj, a historic northern Bosnian town with an Ottoman center and fortress. You'll return to Doboj for the evening to relax and try some local dining options.

Jajce
Head to Tesanj, a historic northern Bosnian town built around a river at 230 meters elevation. Then continue to Jajce, a charming town where two rivers meet, well-known for its 22-meter waterfall. You're staying for two nights here with free time to explore on your own.

Jajce
Spend time at Jajce's Pliva Falls, which cascade through the town center where the rivers meet. You can go to viewing platforms to get close to the water and feel the spray. Wander the Old Town's medieval buildings and Ottoman architecture, visiting 12th-century St. Mary's Church and a 4th-century Mithraic Temple.
