Itinerary
- Day 1
Muscat
Your driver meets you at Muscat International Airport for a half-day introduction to the city. The morning takes you to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, then you'll check out Bait Al Zubair Museum to see traditional Omani culture and artifacts. Stop by Al Alam Palace for photos with the Portuguese forts on either side, then spend your evening wandering through Muttrah Souq where local merchants sell handicrafts and silver items. It's a good way to get oriented and catch the souq energy as the sun sets.

Muscat to Wahiba Sands
Your guide picks you up at 8:30 AM and you're heading out for the full day. You'll drive through Wadi Arbaeen, stopping to swim in oasis pools surrounded by date plantations, then move on to Bimah where there's a dramatic limestone sinkhole you can explore. Wadi Shab comes next with another chance for a swim in the pools there. From the wadis, you head into Wahiba Sands for dune driving and if you're interested, time with a Bedouin family who can show you how desert life actually works. By evening you'll be at the desert campsite settling in for the night.

- Day 3
Wahiba Sands to Muscat
After breakfast you leave the desert and drive to Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the better-known wadis in Oman with those green pools and small waterfalls that are great for swimming and photos. On your way back to Muscat, you'll stop at Al Mudayrib and Ibra to see the traditional watchtowers positioned on hilltops overlooking the villages. These give you a real sense of how settlements were built and defended in earlier times.
