- Incredible Oman
We really enjoyed our tour with GidOman. The city tour with Salim was very interesting but disappointingly was only a half day tour. We then had 3 days with Aziz which were truly unforgettable, Aziz went out of his way to ensure we had a good time. The first day we visited the Bimmah Sinkhole, hiked and swam in Wadi Shab (here Aziz made sure we were safe and helped us over the slippery tricky parts when on the water part of the hike), took us to a fabulous camp in the desert where we went on a dune drive and watched the sunset in the dunes. The second day we visited Nizwa castle, fort and Souk, the ancient village of Al Hamra and finally to our guesthouse in Misfat Al Abriyyin. Aziz took us for a walk through the terraced plantations and explained the Falaj irrigation system. The final day we visited Bahla Fort and Jabreen Castle. Each day we were treated to a delicious local lunch. We are so grateful to have had such a brilliant tour guide who felt like a friend. Thank you Aziz. Our only comment to the organisers at GidOman is that it would have helped to have had better communication about what the schedule was for each day and what we needed to bring, this needs to be sent on confirmation of a place on the tour. For example water or reef shoes would have made the hike in the Wadi easier and information of what is the dress code for the Mosque etc. It would also have been nice to have had some sort of briefing or a written schedule on the first day when we were picked up by the driver and taken to our hotel. Finally please note this is not a 5 day tour as advertised on Tour Radar it is a 3 1/2 day tour.
