Itinerary
- Day 1
Calama to San Pedro de Atacama
You'll arrive at Calama Airport and head to your hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. After settling in, the afternoon takes you out to Moon Valley where you'll walk through some really unique geology. The Great Dune gives you a sense of the scale out here, then you move on to Tres Marías viewpoint and the Amphitheater formation. By evening, you're positioned for sunset views over Mars Valley with the Andes as your backdrop. The light at this hour really changes how the landscape looks.

Altiplanic Lagoons
This is a full day heading south toward the Sico border area. You'll start early with breakfast at a Tamarugo forest, then check out the Red Stones. From there, you visit the Altiplanic Lagoons, specifically Miscanti and Miñiques where you get clear views of the surrounding volcanoes. There's a stop at the Tropic of Capricorn marker so you can see exactly where it is, and lunch comes with those wide-open panoramic views. The whole route covers high altitude terrain with lakes that reflect the peaks above.

- Day 3
Geysers del Tatio
An early 5:00am start takes you about 62 miles to Geysers del Tatio, sitting at 14,100 ft. You'll see boiling water jets when they're most active early in the morning, and the landscape here is really isolated and pristine. Native wildlife like vicuñas move around the area, and the vegetation adapted to this altitude is interesting to see. Later you stop at Machuca, an old adobe village that's been here for centuries. After exploring, you head back down and get transferred to Calama Airport in the late afternoon.
