Munnar tea gardens were peaceful, and we had a great local guide for the spice plantation at Periyar. The driver stayed with us the whole trip quiet, but helpful and always on time. Hotels were tidy and in good locations. Alleppey backwater cruise was a highlight very peaceful, great homemade food. Ending at Kumarakom felt like a private retreat. Munnar tea gardens were peaceful, and Periyar jungle boat ride was unforgettable. The Alleppey houseboat was clean and relaxing great food too. Hotels were tidy and comfortable with helpful staff. Mailin· March 21st, 2025This was my second organised tour in India and I had a lovely time. Kerala is very beautiful and all stops of the tour are well worth seeing. I had a lovely driver who was very friendly and reliable. There was only one day with a local tour guide which was nice since I generally prefer to discover places by myself. The hotels, with the exception of the hotel in Munnar, were great. There was a lot of noise and mold in the bathroom. The hotel in Kumarakom was particularly nice. I did not realise how exhausting the long drives between the places would be but we stopped whenever I needed a break. I was taken to some tourist traps on the first two days but then asked the tour organiser for no more of these places and this was then taken into account for the rest of the trip. I would have liked some clearer communication regarding my stay on the house boat as I did not know that the cook would sleep right outside my bedroom on the houseboat. The mix of Portuguese, Dutch, and British influences in the city was interesting. Munnar hills and tea plantations were stunning, and the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary was a good experience.
