Itinerary
- Day 1
Tupiza
You'll get picked up at your hotel in Tupiza and head out into the high-altitude Andean landscape. The route takes you through several small towns and villages, stopping in Palala, Sillar, Awanapampa, Cerillos, San Pablo, San Antonio, and Quetena as you go. You'll pass through terrain with native plants and wildlife along the way. Lunch happens during the day at a convenient time, and you'll have a basic room for the night.

Quetena to Huayllajara
After leaving Quetena, you'll continue through the National Reserve and see Laguna Kollpa and the Salvador Dalí Desert with its unusual rock formations. The Green Lagoon comes next, followed by Licancabur Volcano. You'll soak in natural hot springs for a bit, then drive to the Geysers area where the altitude increases and the landscape gets more dramatic. By evening you'll settle into basic accommodation in Huayllajara.

- Day 3
Huayllajara to San Juan
The day includes Laguna Colorada with its distinctive red water, the Siloli Desert, and the Stone Tree rock formation that you'll see firsthand. You'll head to the Altiplanic Lagoons where flamingos hang out, and you can spot Ollague Volcano from there. The route continues through San Juan and along the Salar de Chaiviri salt flat before reaching Puerto Chuvica, where you'll stay in basic salt accommodation.

- Day 4
San Juan to Uyuni
Start early to catch sunrise over the Salar de Uyuni salt flat from the best vantage points. Afterward, head to Incahuasi Island to take photos among the large cacti there, then check out the Hotel de Sal museum. You'll also see the Eyes of Salt, stop by Colchani to learn about how local salt production works, and finish at the Train Cemetery in Uyuni before getting dropped off at your preferred location.
