Bangalore
You'll arrive at Bangalore airport and transfer to your hotel whenever you're ready. Check-in happens at noon, and the rest of the day is yours to settle in and relax at your own pace.

Bangalore to Vellore
You'll drive to Vellore, which takes about 5 hours covering roughly 220 km, and the landscapes change quite a bit along the way. Once there, you'll see the 16th-century Vellore Fort and the Sri Lakshmi Narayani Golden Temple, which is covered in pure gold. Later you'll head back to your hotel to rest.

Vellore to Chennai
The drive to Chennai is about 3 hours and covers 145 km, going through Kanchipuram on the way. By evening you'll do a city tour of modern Chennai to see the contemporary side of things.

Chennai to Pondicherry
You're heading to Pondicherry, a 3-hour drive about 160 km away via Mahabalipuram. Along the way you'll see monolithic temples and the Shore Temple there. Once in Pondicherry, you can explore Auroville, the local museum, and walk through the French Colony to soak up that colonial atmosphere.

You'll go out on a boat through Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to spot animals and birds in their habitat. Later you'll drive to Kumarakom, roughly 140 km away and taking about 4 hours, which is surrounded by backwaters and has its own quiet charm.
