Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Hossa
You'll arrive at Kuusamo airport and get driven to Hossa, where your forest house sits near the National Park. After checking in, there's a briefing about what the week holds. Dinner happens in the evening, or if you're getting in late, you'll have an evening snack with the briefing pushed to morning instead.

Landmarks/POIs Hossa National Park - Day 2
Snowshoeing Adventure
Your snowshoeing kicks off right from the accommodation with a quick intro to the activity. You'll trek through snow-covered forest and across frozen lakes, breaking partway through for a picnic lunch around an open fire. Back at the cabin, settle into your private sauna to warm up and relax.

Landmarks/POIs Hossa National Park - Day 3
Cross-Country Skiing and Igloo Building
The day covers cross-country skiing, which is how Finns traditionally got around these forests. You'll get technical instruction and practice time, then ski easy tracks through flat pine forest and over frozen lakes. Afternoon shifts to igloo building, where you'll pile up snow that gets hollowed out later once it hardens.

Husky Sledding Safari
After breakfast, you're heading to a husky farm for a sled ride through the wilderness pulled by eager teams. You can either drive the sled yourself or relax under warm blankets and let the dogs do the work. Lunch happens at the farm before you get driven back to the cabins.

Landmarks/POIs Hossa National Park - Day 5
Ridge Snowshoeing and Igloo Completion
Snowshoes take you into the ridge area of Hossa National Park, with short but steep climbs and descents. Watch the snow for tracks from elks, wolves, lynxes, and hares if you're lucky enough to spot them. After lunch, you'll finish up the igloo construction, and anyone interested can hang out inside to check it out.

Landmarks/POIs Hossa National Park - Day 6
Wilderness Skills and Reindeer Visit
Morning focuses on wilderness survival skills like fire-making. Then you'll head a few kilometers to a reindeer farm to see the animals, learn how they live, and understand how they handle arctic conditions. The afternoon brings ice-fishing, and whatever you catch gets prepared for your dinner that evening.

Pick your favorite activities from earlier in the week to do again, or try something different like Altai skis, fatbike cycling on snow trails (not great for young kids), or a snowmobile safari if it's available. The day wraps with a farewell dinner to mark the end of your time here.
