Janaka was sensitive to our needs, listened to our requests and ensured we had the best experiences. It was raining heavily so Janaka adjusted the itinerary to fit the weather situation and was an expert driver, safely managing bad road and weather conditions so we felt relaxed and comfortable. - SSH· January 1st, 2024Our guide and driver (Indunil) was excellent! He helped us with scheduling and adjustments due to weather issues, and kept us entertained with little tidbits of knowledge through the tour! He kept us safe, and made sure we got excellent safari drivers and restaurants. Highlights of the tour were the elephant sanctuary, the safaris (we saw wild elephants and leopards!) and the climb up Sigiriya. We took off 1/2 a star due to issues with the BH Lanka back-end staff - they were slow top respond and didn't seem to listen to a lot of our requests to change the itinerary. We took off another 1/2 star due to the quality of some of the hotels BH Lanka booked. In particular the hotel in Ella was terrible - no hot water, leaking/damp room (even the linen and towels were damp) and ants/bugs everywhere inside. For reference, we upgraded our accommodation to the highest level, and expect better hotels than we received.
