His driving was impressive given the number of crazy drivers on the road. He added personalised touches like stopping and buying coconuts so we could experience real coconut water and Buffalo curd with Treacle. It was the perfect balance of history, culture, scenic beauty and exotic animals. Our guide was Nishantha Kumara, who was extremely knowledgable and passionate about sharing his love of Sri Lanka with us. He prepared us each day with explanations of the itinerary for the day and with background information, so that we could get the most of each experience. Nishantha and BH Lanka were extremely accommodating for any adjustments we requested in the schedule. Nishantha was an extremely safe driver, and my husband and I felt confident in his hands. He was always punctual, kept the vehicle immaculate and ensured that we were comfortable in every way. The hotels and meals were very good. My husband and I are not adventuresome eaters, and we always found a wide variety of delicious food and plenty of it. The staffs at the hotels went out of their way to make sure that our every need was met. Everyone connected with this tour, including the online office staff, our tour guide/driver Nishantha, the local tour guides, and the hotel/restaurant staffs could not have been more helpful and considerate. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with an interesting, diverse, cultural, religious, and political heritage. I encourage everyone to go visit and learn about this fascinating country. This is the first time we've done a tour of this nature, normally roughing it on our own, so it was a change of pace for us staying in some very fancy hotels and being chauffeured around. While at times we missed some of the freedom of backpacking, it was nice to experience having everything so thoughtfully taken care of! Udara was knowledgeable, helpful and made the whole trip seamless. We especially appreciated his effort to get us into the temple of the tooth relic despite the massive crowds there for a special event.
