Itinerary
- Day 1
Moshi
You'll get picked up at Moshi Bus Station and taken to your accommodation in Moshi. Once there, your guide will go over what to expect on the trek and make sure all your gear is ready to go.


- Day 2
Moshi to Mandara Hut
From Moshi, you'll drive to Marangu Gate on Kilimanjaro National Park's eastern side and start your trek through thick rainforests. Keep an eye out for birds and colobus monkeys as you climb about 8.3 km over 5 hours to Mandara Hut at 2,700m/8,858 ft, where you'll eat and spend the night.

Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Starting from Mandara Hut, you'll trek through rainforests and mountain heathland with views of giant lobelias and groundsels reaching over 3 meters tall. The landscape shifts to low shrubs and moorlands as you make your way up 12.5 km in about 9 hours to Horombo Hut at 3,700m/12,139 ft, where you'll see Mawenzi and Kibo massifs plus the Masai steppe stretching out below.

- Day 4
Horombo Hut Acclimatization
This day is set aside to let your body adjust to the altitude. After breakfast, you'll hike for 3 to 4 hours to Zebra Rocks at 4,020m/13,189 ft, named for their distinctive black and white striped appearance. You'll head back down to Horombo Hut for lunch, then have time to rest and relax before dinner.

Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
This is a long and demanding day as you climb past the last water point and saddle into a barren alpine desert with a rocky, moon-like terrain. You'll cross the wide saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo, then arrive at Kibo Hut at 4,700m/15,420 ft. Get to bed early so you're ready for your summit push tomorrow.

Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Summit day starts around midnight when you'll be woken for the trek through darkness along frozen lava ash. You'll pass Hans Meyer Cave at 5,200m/17,060 ft and reach Gilman's Point at 5,681m/18,635 ft as dawn breaks. After 1 to 2 more hours, you'll stand at Uhuru Peak at 5,895m/19,341 ft, the highest point in Africa, with crater views and plains spreading below. After your celebration, you'll descend back to Kibo Hut for food and rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut, arriving in the afternoon.

- Day 7
Horombo Hut to Moshi
After breakfast, you'll say goodbye to your mountain crew and descend through moorlands and thick forests. You'll stop at Mandara Hut for lunch, then walk through rainforest to reach Marangu Gate at 1,860m/6,102 ft. Collect your trekking certificate and meet your driver for the transfer back to Moshi, where a hot shower and proper rest are waiting.

Moshi Bus Station Drop-Off
After breakfast, you'll head to Moshi Bus Station for your departure. You're leaving with memories of reaching the summit of Africa's highest peak.
