- RARozita· March 19th, 2025We had a blast in this tour of the Balkans in 14 days. The tour which was supposed to be a group tour turned up to be a private one for just the two of us. We were so grateful to be fully organised by the kind Sirma of Choose Balkans, fully guided in our adventures by Eraldo and Ilir who were very kind, supportive, understanding, flexible, friendly and energetic. Kudos for their superb informative guidance and explanation as well as the energy and determination to drive us everywhere as per the organised itineraries. When we arrived in Tirana, Albania after the first half of our trip, we were delighted to meet Sirma and Brikena, and glad to be in the food tour guided by Markel. Overall, the accomodations in this tour were very good. The Balkans are such Beautiful places and we were so glad to take this one dream off our bucket list with The Choose Balkans team. Although the trips were quite long and tiring, we truly enjoyed the sites and of coz will cherish the beautiful memories forever. Who knows one day we will travel again with Choose Balkans.Show more

Show moreTrip date: January 2025 - AAnonymous· May 2nd, 2023My wife and I just returned from an eleven-day tour of several Balkan countries that was arranged by Choose Balkans. We visited Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia, Herzegovina and Kosovo. Although Choose Balkans offers a wide variety of pre-planned tours that look superb (see their website), none of them met our particular needs. (We had visited North Macedonia and Croatia previously and wanted to focus on other countries this time. Also, we had time constraints that had to be accommodated.) We had read excellent Trip Advisor reviews of Choose Balkans and, based on these reviews, we contacted the company to determine if they could plan a tour for us that would meet our needs. One of their agents, Sirma, responded to us immediately, assuring us that such a tour could be arranged. She quickly put together a private tour that included all the places we wished to visit and suggested the timeline, historical sites, other tourist attractions, and types of lodging we would have in each country. The proposed tour was exactly what we wanted and the price was reasonable, so we accepted the offer. Sirma was extremely helpful during the planning process, responding to our questions and concerns quickly and professionally. When we arrived in Tirana (Albania) we were met at the airport and, from that moment onward, every aspect of our tour was overseen by Choose Balkans staff. After checking into our apartment (an excellent facility owned by Choose Balkans) we went to the company’s office and met Sirma. We also met Brikena who oversaw the daily implementation of our tour. Later that evening we met our guide for the tour, Sokol Selami, and had dinner with him and Brikena to discuss details of the tour. Sokol was a superb guide (and an accomplished driver who could negotiate the narrow streets of old towns with finesse!). He was highly knowledgeable of the history, culture, cuisine and social features of each place we visited. It was easy to communicate with Sokol and he was attuned to our personal needs and wishes throughout the tour. For anyone considering a tour of any of the Balkan countries, we highly recommend Choose Balkans.
