Itinerary
- Day 1
Athens to Tolo
You'll arrive at Athens International Airport and pick up your rental car, then drive along the coast toward the Corinth Canal. From there, the day focuses on two major archaeological sites: first Mycenae, the ancient kingdom associated with Agamemnon, and then Epidaurus where you can see the famous Ancient Theatre. After exploring both sites, drive to Tolo for hotel check-in. The afternoon is yours to relax and settle in after your travel.

Tolo to Olympia
Start with breakfast at your hotel, then walk around the charming village of Tolo and spend time at the local beaches. Later, head inland to Nafplio, Greece's former capital, where you can grab lunch at a traditional tavern and walk through the old town. From there, you'll drive to Olympia by either heading through the mainland or taking the scenic route along the Gulf of Kyparissia. You'll arrive at your hotel in Olympia during the afternoon, giving you time to get settled.

Olympia to Delphi
After breakfast at your hotel, spend the morning in Olympia exploring the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus in the Alpheus River valley, where the ancient Olympic Games began. Check out the Archaeological Museum to see artifacts from the site. Then drive through small villages, stopping for lunch along the way. If time allows, you can make a quick stop in Patra before continuing to Delphi for the night.

Delphi to Kalambaka
Following a substantial hotel breakfast, you'll explore Delphi located at the foot of Mount Parnassos, the place ancient Greeks believed was the center of the world. Visit the sanctuary of Apollo and see where the famous oracle operated, plus spend time at the museum. The drive to Kalambaka is lengthy, so plan for short stops in smaller cities along the way. You should arrive before dark to see the Meteora complex with its monasteries on rock formations.

Kalambaka to Athens
After breakfast, you'll visit Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where monasteries sit on top of enormous rock formations. Spend time exploring the Byzantine art and understanding the unique geology that gave the site its name meaning 'hovering in the air'. Once you finish, drive back to Athens with optional stops in cities you might have missed on earlier days. End the day by returning your rental car at Athens Airport to complete your trip.
