  Our guide Eduardo, was first class in every way. Can’t praise him highly enough. The walks were great even though the level of walking varied enormously over 16 people on the trip - in my view way too many people for 1 guide. Eduardo did a very good job corralling so many people but I would advise Explor to max out walking guests at no more than 8-10. Accom was good, food great. Allore and andiarmo.

  Magnificent scenery. Climbs were often on loose rock & scree and very steep. Our guide was very patient and cheerful. I was too busy watching my footing to really enjoy the climbs

  Lovely tour, Marta was a great guide and the group was lovely. The day hikes were fantastic and sights beautiful, and we were well fed from the hotel. I would gladly recommend this tour!! In terms of difficulty, there are some slopes but perfectly doable if you are of average fitness like myself. The ages in my tour ranged from 19 to 80!! May be too difficult if you cannot handle slopes and stairs.

  Our travel experience was nothing short of exceptional from start to finish. Communication prior to departure was timely, thorough, and professional, with all the necessary travel details clearly laid out. From the moment we met our guide, Nigel, at Venice Marco Polo Airport, we felt warmly welcomed and fully supported. Throughout the week, Nigel provided clear guidance with a consistently positive and engaging energy that set the tone for a relaxed and well-organized adventure. The daily hikes were thoughtfully curated; each one unique, awe-inspiring, and designed to showcase the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region. The routes reflected a deep respect for local traditions and landscapes, offering both variety and meaningful experiences. Our free day was a highlight in itself; we chose to rent e-bikes and cycle into Austria, which turned out to be a perfect blend of fun, exploration, and rejuvenation. A heartfelt thank you to Nigel, whose presence made all the difference. He went above and beyond, anticipating the needs of every traveler with a rare combination of attentiveness, humor, empathy, and deep local knowledge. His storytelling and cultural insights added depth to each destination, and he created a warm and inclusive atmosphere that made everyone feel at ease. We returned home not only deeply satisfied with the quality of the walking experience, but also enriched by the connections we made with our fellow travelers. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure!

  So amazing! Had a fantastic time, our guide Nigel was excellent! The hotel was pretty nice, the food was mixed, some nights was pretty good others weren’t the best. The breakfast was good, however one day I did see mould on one of the baked items which turned me off and the last night when there was obviously more guests at the hotel then other nights and we were last to eat the salad buffet was extremely empty, obviously not the tours issue but maybe something to pass on to the hotel. The views, hikes, picnic lunches and group was amazing and couldn’t fault!

  The hiking trip to the Dolomites was fabulous. The itinerary for the week was well laid out. Our guide, Andy Hodges, was absolutely fantastic. The week before our group got there, there was significant snowfall in the areas we were to hike. Andy took the time and effort to make sure each of our hikes were safe and do-able. On our free day, he even hiked one of the routes to make sure we could do it and it was safe from avalanches. It was not, so from his experience and vast knowledge of the area, he was able to provide a better route foe the day. Andy's friendliness and energetic spirit was very contagious. I love the way he was able to provide easier alternatives to some of the longer hikes. The hike to Tre Time was incredible and was my absolute favorite of the week.

  It’s very nice to have the transportation arranged between Venice and Dobbiaco. Since the weather is unpredictable, the guide, Andy, made the daily schedule flexible to fit the weather. It’s great.

  We have been on approximately 8 group treks in past 12 years. The Dolomites trip ranks well up there. The accommodations were fine. We had a nice room and good breakfasts. Dinners were ok. Lunches were adequate. Missing condiments! Our group was extremely cohesive which really makes a good trip. Eduardo was clever about options for our group and picked the best hikes for the weather and skill levels. Only one scary hike when the thunder and lightning chased us off the strudel summit. Felt that was a bit delayed in descending. I think 15 is too many for one guide. We had a medical issue and Eduardo seemed not to take it seriously enough and rushed on ahead. He corrected himself and unloaded the hiker of his gear and slowed to his pace. We almost missed the gondola but in the end, it was ok. Other groups we have been with had a person (not necessarily guide) be a “caboose” for safety sake. Overall Eduardo did a fabulous job and certainly knows his Dolomiti! We will definitely choose another trip with Explore.
