Itinerary
- Day 1
Rome to Verona to Venice
Meet your Trip Manager and the rest of your group this morning before heading out of Rome fairly early. The drive takes you north to Verona where you'll see the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony and walk through the Roman Arena, then it's on to Venice for the evening. You'll have time to get settled once you arrive but the real exploration happens tomorrow.

Venice
Spend the entire day in Venice on your own terms. A private boat takes you through the canals to get to the main parts of the city, and from there you can choose your own adventure. Some people do a food tour or take a gondola ride, while others prefer just wandering through the streets and crossing bridges at their own pace to find hidden spots.

Venice to Salzburg
Leave Venice this morning and head toward Salzburg in Austria. You'll visit Hohensalzburg Fortress, which is the biggest preserved fortress in the whole region, then later in the day there's a chance to go out to a local farm. Your hosts will prepare an authentic Austrian dinner for the group right there.

Salzburg to Prague
Travel from Austria into the Czech Republic today, heading toward Prague. Once you arrive in the city, you'll have free time to get oriented and check things out on foot. The place is known for its castles, bridges and gothic buildings, and there are plenty of local restaurants where you can try traditional Czech food.

Prague
You've got the whole day to do what you want in Prague. Photograph the gothic architecture, browse through antique markets, or try some local beer and see what breweries catch your interest. Shopping for Bohemian beads and amber jewelry is popular, or you can walk the cobbled streets of Old Town. By evening, grab a cocktail from one of the roof bars that overlook the whole city.

Prague to Dresden to Berlin
Head out of Prague toward Berlin, but first stop in Dresden for a few hours. The Baroque architecture here tells a story of rebuilding after WWII, so you'll see the Royal Residence, Zwinger Palace, the Opera House and Frauenkirche. After that, continue on to Berlin where you can start checking out the Berlin Wall remains and get a feel for the city before your full exploration day.

Berlin
Spend the day exploring Berlin however you like. Checkpoint Charlie is the iconic spot most people want to see, but the side streets have plenty of unique things worth discovering too. The city has a ton of museums, galleries and attractions, so pick what interests you and go from there.

Berlin to Amsterdam
Leave Berlin behind and drive to Amsterdam using the autobahn, which moves things along pretty quickly. You'll arrive in the evening to a city known for its canals, interesting museums, quirky cafes and just an overall vibrant feel. There's time to walk around and get your bearings before turning in for the night.

Amsterdam
This is your last full day with the group in Amsterdam. Explore the cafe culture, try some local pancakes and frites, or bar hop through different neighborhoods. Museums here range from the famous ones to really obscure collections. Later in the evening, there's an optional group dinner if you want to spend it with your Contiki crew.

Amsterdam to London
Say goodbye to your group this morning since your tour is wrapping up. Most people get escorted to Schiphol Airport by around 10am, and that's where things end. If you're continuing on to London, you'll travel south to Calais, cross the channel into England, then head to London where your adventure finally concludes.
