Kathmandu
A staff member from Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will meet you at Kathmandu airport and drive you to your hotel in Thamel. Your guide will go over what lies ahead on the trek before you settle in for the night.

Kathmandu to Lukla to Phakding
Your guide picks you up from the hotel and takes you to the domestic terminal for a 35-minute flight to Lukla with views of the Himalayan peaks. The trek starts easy as you walk through Kyangma and Cheplung villages, pass through forests near the Dudh Koshi River, cross suspension bridges, and pass prayer wheels before reaching Phakding for the night.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar
You'll cross several suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River and trek through Tok-Tok, Benkar, and Monjo. At Sagarmatha National Park entrance you'll need to buy a permit. After following the river bed and crossing the final Hillary suspension bridge, there's a steep uphill climb to Namche Bazaar, a lively hub with restaurants, internet, and banks.

Namche Bazaar
Today is for acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. Staying active on rest days helps, so you can trek to Thame village, visit Khunde, explore the weekly market (Friday evening and Saturday morning), or check out the Tourist Visitor Center near Sagarmatha National Park headquarters to see first Everest climber equipment and learn about local flora and fauna.

Namche Bazaar to Tengboche
You'll trek alongside the Dudh Kosi River as it cascades down from the mountains with mountain views while gradually ascending to Tengboche Village at 3,860m/12,664ft. The village has decorative wall hangings, a 6-meter Buddha statue, Tibetan musical instruments, and colorful lama robes. Don't miss the evening prayer ceremony at the monastery.

Tengboche to Dingboche
Head to Dingboche with an easy route until the final steep climb that reminds you of the higher altitude. You'll pass through Somare and Orsho villages, take the left trail fork toward Pheriche Village, cross a bridge, and climb steeply to Dingboche Village at 4,410m/14,468ft for the night.

Dingboche
This is your second acclimatization day. Climb 400m to Nangkartshang Gompa on a ridge north of Dingboche Village for views of Mt. Makalu (the world's fifth highest mountain) and Mt. Ama Dablam. If you have energy, continue to the summit at Nangkartshang at 5,090m/16,699ft.

Dingboche to Lobuche
Head to Dughla Village, then cross the steep moraine at the base of Khumbu Glacier and boulder-strewn slopes. Continue ascending to Chupki Lhara, marked with prayer flags as a memorial to climbers who died on Everest. Huge peaks surround you including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal. Stay in a lodge overnight.

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorak Shep
Head to higher elevations passing Gorak Shep Lake and a memorial for Indian mountaineers who died on Mt. Everest. Walking becomes more demanding with thinner air as you cross rocks, moraine, and streams before reaching EBC. You'll see colorful mountaineer tents waiting for summit conditions and can see Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Pumori with snow on their peaks. Return to Gorak Shep for the night.

Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar to Pangboche
Head out before sunrise in sub-zero temperatures to Kala Patthar where strong winds add to the chill. In the east you'll see peaks of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse with Everest appearing as well. At Kala Patthar's summit take in 360-degree views of Mt. Everest looming before you and get great photos. Then head back to Pangboche for the night.

Pangboche to Namche Bazaar
Head back to Imja Khola and ascend through the forest to Tengboche. Visit Tengboche Monastery and stop there for lunch. Cross a hillside with juniper and rhododendron trees, cross a bridge over the Dudh Koshi River, and descend steeply through the gorge and pine trees to Sansa Village where you may spot mountain goats, snow leopards, and colorful pheasants before arriving at Namche Bazaar.

Namche Bazaar to Lukla
Head back to Phakding on your final trek day. You should arrive at Lukla with time to explore the village and surrounding hillsides. In the evening you may want to celebrate your Everest Base Camp trek with some drinks.

Lukla to Kathmandu
Catch your flight back to Kathmandu with a new perspective of the mountains below. In the afternoon unwind by walking through Thamel and maybe grab coffee at a café before the next leg of your adventure.

Kathmandu to Pokhara
Head out on the second leg with a 6-7 hour drive toward the Pokhara Valley and Phewa Tal lake. Check into your hotel close to the lake. The lakeside has plenty to see and do with many shops, bars, and restaurants to choose from.

Landmarks/POIs Phewa Tal - Day 15
Pokhara to Tikhedhunga
Travel by jeep to Nayapul and begin your trek following the Modi Khola river banks until you reach Birethanti Village at 1,015m/3,330ft. Follow the north bank of the Burundi Khola before climbing through the valley to Hille at 1,495m/4,905ft, then continue to Tikhedhunga at 1,570m/5,151ft for the night. The trek is not too strenuous and relatively easy.

Landmarks/POIs Modi Khola River - Day 16
Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Make a steep ascent to the Magar village of Ulleri at 2,070m/6,791ft. Head higher through rhododendron and oak forests to Banthanti at 2,250m/7,382ft, then continue to Nangethanti at 2,460m/8,071ft. An hour later arrive at Ghorepani at 2,840m/9,318ft where you'll stay overnight at a guesthouse.

- Day 17
Ghorepani to Tadapani
Get up before sunrise to appreciate Poon Hill. It takes about an hour to reach Poon Hill at 3,210m/10,531ft where mountains glisten in morning light reflecting various colors off white peaks. After taking photos head back to Ghorepani for breakfast. From there ascend across mountain ridges and through rhododendron and pine forests to Deurali at 2,960m/9,711ft, then reach a crossroad at Banthanti and head to Tadapani where you'll stay overnight.

Tadapani to Chomrong
The trail descends down a steep hill through rhododendron forests before reaching Chomrong Village at 2,140m/7,021ft, a mainly Gurung village where you'll stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Chomrong to Dovan
The trail descends to Chomrong Khola river and then up to Khuldighar at 2,380m/7,808ft, where an ACAP checkpoint used to be. Head down to the gorge bottom on the west side of the river. Walk through bamboo forest and climb a steep staircase to Dovan where you'll stay overnight at a guesthouse.

- Day 20
Dovan to Deurali
Trek higher through rhododendron forest alongside the Modi Khola to Himalaya Hotel at 2,920m/9,578ft. Pass Hinku Cave, which used to serve as a camp and supply depot for earlier Annapurna I expeditions. Continue up through the jungle trail to reach Deurali at 3,200m/10,499ft where you'll stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp
Ascend to Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130m/13,550ft. Along the way pass Hinko Cave, Deurali, and Machapuchare Base Camp. At this altitude you'll have clear unobstructed views over the surrounding peaks, the perfect time to get your camera out. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo
Head back down the same route you took to reach ABC, descending an incredible 1,700m to the bank of the Modi Khola and continuing to Bamboo at 2,345m/7,694ft where you'll stay overnight at a guesthouse.

Bamboo to Jhinu Danda
Follow the trail back to Chomrong passing through Khuldighar and rhododendron and bamboo forests. There's a very steep descent to Jhinu Danda where you can relax in natural hot springs. Stay overnight at a guesthouse.

- Day 24
Jhinu Danda to Pokhara
Trek along the Modi Khola banks for around 4.5 hours until you reach Birethanti. This trek is the most enjoyable of the entire trek, more like a gentle walk. Once you reach Nayapul drive back to Pokhara and check into your hotel. In the afternoon take a boat trip to Barahi Temple on a small island in Phewa Tal lake. Stay overnight at your hotel.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
Head back along the highway to Kathmandu. Along the way you'll have time to reflect on your trek to Annapurna Base Camp and make a wish list of places to visit next in Nepal including a Chitwan jungle safari, rafting adventure, mountain biking, or guided shopping tour of Kathmandu. You'll check into your hotel after arrival.

Kathmandu
Say goodbye to Nepal and the Himalayas. A Sherpa Expedition and Trekking representative will take you to the airport with plenty of time before your departure. On your way home you'll start thinking about your next adventure in the Himalayan Mountains.
