Itinerary
- Day 1
Karavasta Lagoon to Berat
Your day starts with a scenic boat ride across Karavasta Lagoon before heading to Berat, one of Albania's most interesting cities. Once there, you'll visit Berat Castle and step into a traditional local home where you can have Turkish coffee and Gliko. The charming town below spreads out with houses, bars, and restaurants tucked into lush landscape, and you'll have time to wander through it. In the afternoon, a wine tasting tour gives you a chance to sample local varieties. By evening, the city is yours to explore on your own at whatever pace you prefer.

- Day 2
Berat to Gjirokastra to Saranda
Travel takes you to Gjirokastra, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its distinctive stone-roofed houses built on steep slopes. You'll walk through the historic Gjirokastra Bazaar with cobblestoned streets and medieval facades that give a real sense of the old town. From there, head south to the coastal city of Saranda, where crystal-clear turquoise waters line the Ionian coast. After that, visit the ancient city of Butrint, another UNESCO World Heritage Site with well-preserved Greek and Roman ruins and a functional open theater. Your evening is free in Saranda to relax or grab dinner by the water.

- Day 3
Albanian Riviera to Tirana
Start by hiking to Borsh Castle, situated at roughly 500 meters above sea level, and the views of the mountains and Ionian coast from up there are quite nice. This ancient fortress also has the only mosque on the Riviera. Next, continue north to Porto Palermo Castle, the main highlight of the Albanian Riviera, built on an island connected to shore by a narrow strip of land. You'll have time to swim at the beach near the castle. Later, you'll transfer to Tirana with an option to stop at Apollonia if you arrange it with your tour leader the day before. Drop off happens at your hotel.
