Itinerary
- Day 1
Pristina to Prizren
Your tour leader picks you up at your hotel in Pristina to start the day. First stop is Gracanica Monastery, one of Kosovo's most impressive religious sites with medieval paintings and colorful murals covering the walls. Keep in mind you'll need modest dress here, so cover your knees and shoulders, and women should bring headscarves since photography isn't allowed inside. From there, head to Ulpiana to walk through Kosovo's Roman ruins where you can see ancient sculptures and inscriptions scattered across the site. The day wraps up in Prizren, Kosovo's cultural capital, where the medieval streets wind through the old town with elegant houses and bridges crossing the river. Spend your evening wandering these historic lanes.

Prizren to Sharr Mountains and Prevalla National Park
After breakfast, you'll head toward Prevalla National Park to experience the Sharr Mountains and the Lepenci River. This is your day for hiking through Kosovo's landscape on foot, moving at a comfortable pace with time to take in the natural environment around you. The park is also known for skiing in winter, but today's focus is the hiking trails and what the mountains offer. By evening, you'll drive back to Prizren to settle in for the night.

Prizren to Rahovec Valley and Gjakove
Travel west into Rahovec Valley, Kosovo's viticulture center where grapes have been grown for 2,000 years going back to Illyrian times. The vineyards sit on hillsides between 350 and 520 meters elevation, conditions that work well for wine production. After exploring the valley, continue to Gjakove to see the oldest and largest bazaar in Kosovo, which was rebuilt following various wars over the years. Wander through the bazaar browsing traditional handmade crafts from local artisans, and grab a meal at one of the bazaar's restaurants if you're hungry.

Gjakove to Monastery of Decan and Accursed Mountain National Park
The day centers on visiting the white Monastery of Decan, which still has Orthodox monks living there who make fresh organic food including cheese. The monastery earned UNESCO status in 2004 because of its remarkable 14th-century frescoes showing daily life and the Palaeologan renaissance period. Later you'll drive through spectacular mountain terrain to reach Accursed Mountain National Park and explore Gryka e Decanit. There's time to enjoy the landscape and hike through the area at your own pace.

Gjakove to Peja and Rugova Valley National Park
Head to Peja and visit the Patriarchate of Peja, a medieval Orthodox monastery built in the 13th century with four churches in striking red color. This site is also UNESCO protected. After exploring there, check out the city's characteristic Old Bazaar before moving on to Rugova Valley National Park. The valley has waterfalls, rock formations, small villages, lakes, caves, and mountains creating beautiful scenery throughout the year. You'll have free time to explore and can drive through the Accursed Mountains at your own pace.

Rugova Valley to White Drin River Waterfall, Prekaz, and Pristina
Start at White Drin River Waterfall, a natural area with deep canyons and pristine landscapes in Zhljeb Mountain near Radavc village. This is one of Kosovo's most notable waterfalls and includes a cave and river source, all legally protected as a natural monument. Spend free time exploring the area before traveling to Prekaz to visit the Jashari family memorial. You'll see the museum, memorial grounds, and Adem Jashari's house where bullet holes from the 1998 Serbian police attack remain visible on the walls. Later you'll return to Pristina for the night.

Pristina City Tour
Spend your final day exploring Pristina, Kosovo's capital. Start at the Newborn Monument, a symbol of the nation's independence and youth as a country. See the Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa with its distinctive clock tower and the National Library of Kosovo, which has 73 white domes creating a striking appearance. Take a stroll along Sheshi Nena Tereza, the main boulevard, and grab coffee at one of the bars there. Pass through Skanderberg Square with its statue of the national Albanian hero. This city tour brings your Kosovo cultural and historical journey to a close.
