Itinerary
- Day 1
Cusco to Aguas Calientes
Your adventure starts with a hotel pickup in Cusco, then you'll drive to Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley. From there, board a scenic one-hour train that follows the Urubamba River down to Km 104, where your actual trek begins. You'll hike through cloud forests and pass by the Wi\u00f1ay Wayna archaeological site along the way. The trail takes you to the Sun Gate, which is where you get your first real look at Machu Picchu spread out below. After taking in that view, you'll descend down to Aguas Calientes for the night to rest up before the next day.

- Day 2
Machu Picchu to Cusco
You'll want to get up early and catch one of the first buses heading up to Machu Picchu so you can see it at sunrise. A guided tour lasting about two hours walks you through the altars, terraces, and ceremonial structures scattered across the site. If you have permits and want more, optional mountain hikes are available for those interested. Later in the afternoon, you'll board a train back to Ollantaytambo, then take a bus back to Cusco where everything wraps up.
