Itinerary
- Day 1
Accra
Your Landtours representative meets you at Accra airport and takes you to your hotel. After settling in, you'll get a welcome drink and connect with the rest of the tour group before heading to bed for the night.



- Day 2
Accra
Following breakfast, you'll walk through Accra's main areas including the administrative and economic districts, then check out the Artiste Alliance Gallery and W.E.B. Du Bois Center. From there, it's on to Independence/Black Star Square and the National Museum of Ghana. The afternoon takes you to historic Jamestown to see colonial buildings and the red and white lighthouse. By evening, you finish at the Arts Center where you can browse local crafts and explore the market.

- Day 3
Volta River Village
After breakfast, you'll drive to a traditional village along the Volta River for an authentic naming ceremony. Local chiefs will welcome you and give you a traditional African name. You'll experience live drumming and dancing, plus watch local women demonstrating pottery-making techniques.

Landmarks Volta River - Day 4
Kakum National Park to Cape Coast
Early departure takes you to Kakum National Park, home to one of West Africa's remaining tropical rainforests. You'll walk the Canopy Walkway with its seven bridges suspended 30m above the forest floor, then take a 2km nature walk through exotic plant species. Later, you head to Cape Coast Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site originally built by the Swedes in 1653. The castle now contains the West African Historical Museum and offers insight into the region's complex history.

- Day 5
Elmina Castle
After checking out, you'll drive to Elmina to tour Elmina Castle (St. George's Castle), constructed by the Portuguese in 1482 and recognized as a UN World Heritage Site. The visit covers the Trans-Atlantic slave trade's history and its ongoing impact on African and African Diaspora communities. Down at the harbor below the castle, you'll see traditional pirogues painted in bright colors being prepared for their next voyage.

- Day 6
Assin Manso to Kumasi
You check out and drive through forest areas toward Kumasi, stopping at Assin Manso to visit Donkor Nsuo riverbank. This former slave market and trading point now memorializes repatriated ancestors. Once in Kumasi, you'll explore Manhyia Palace Museum to learn about Ashanti kingdom history spanning back to 1700 through various relics and artifacts. The day finishes at the National Cultural Center, where you can see the Prempeh II Jubilee Museum and watch brass makers, potters, and batik makers at work in their studios.

Ashanti Craft Villages
Following breakfast, you'll visit three craft villages in the Ashanti region. Ahwiaa is known for woodcarving, Ntonso for Adinkra cloth production, and Bonwire for Kente weaving. At each location, you'll see artisans creating their work and have the option to purchase directly from the people who make these pieces.

Besease Shrine to Accra
After breakfast, you head back toward Accra. On the way, you'll visit the Besease Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where ancient Ashanti religious customs continue. Here you can observe traditional architecture and learn about ancestral worship practices and the spiritual intermediaries (bosom) that connect people to the supreme god Nyame. You arrive in Accra in the evening and check into your hotel.

Accra Departure
The morning is yours for any final sightseeing or shopping in Accra before you head to the airport. Later in the day, your transfer takes you to catch your flight home.
