My husband and I just completed the 21 day Manaslu + Tsum Valley trek with Uma Holidays Travels and Tours and it was one of the best experiences of my life. We coordinated with Ram and Kiran from Uma Holidays l initially from the US via email. Ram and Kirran were so helpful and coordinated everything from hotels to transport for the duration of our trip. We would not have had such a wonderful experience without our guide Wangchu and porter Lakpa. Wangchu is a very professional, experienced Nepali guide. Wangchu speaks excellent English so communication was very easy and he was very open to answering all our questions and addressing any concerns we had. dorje spoke little English, but we were still able to communicate with him and really enjoyed his company during the trip. Plus Dorje was always ready to play a game of cards! Luckily for us, Wangchu has done this specific trek many times (30+ at the time of this trek) and knows every detail of the trek. Wangchu selected not only the best tea houses for our overnight stays, but he requested specific tea house rooms with the nicest views. We felt like we were in the absolute best care. My allergies were going insane during the trek, and Wangchu took me to the local medical posts so I could pickup meds mid-trek, which made my experience so much better. I like to avoid crowds, which is one of the reasons we choose this trek vs. Annapurna or EBC. Since Wangchu had so much experience with this circuit, Wangchu and Dorje scheduled our days to accommodate this preference and it heightened the entire experience for us. As an example, Wangchu recommended we visit a gumpa (monestary) early in the morning because the timing would work better for us. That day we had an early breakfast and left before most other trekkers. When we arrived at the gumpa, we had the whole place to ourselves - it was so beautiful and peaceful. As we hiked away from the gumpa towards the next village, we passed ~100 people headed towards the gumpa, it was like a queue at Disneyland. We were so thankful our smart guide advised us to go early to enjoy the peace and quiet. Highly recommend Uma Holidays Travels and Tours Team, especially Wangchu and Dorje!
