Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Suvtushar

    You'll head out to the Hissar mountains and arrive in Suvtushar village, which sits in a nice valley. After grabbing lunch, you'll hike around the area and check out the Suvtushar waterfall at 84 meters high, located in the Hissar Reserve. The water creates this dramatic foam effect, particularly striking during summer months. Back in the village, you'll spend the evening with your host family.

  2. Day 2

    Suvtushar to Sarchashma

    This morning after breakfast you'll hike from Suvtushar to Sarchashma village, passing through Tamshush village and crossing the Tamshushdaryo river. The trail goes through mountain valleys with views of 3000m peaks on a gentle path that leads to passes overlooking the Hisorak reservoir. Midday you'll have a picnic lunch in a green garden by the stream, then descend to Sarchashma. Later in the evening you can wander around the village and optionally visit a 19th-century mosque with traditional wooden architecture and a 500-year-old walnut tree in its courtyard.

  3. Day 3

    Sarchashma to Gilon

    After breakfast you'll trek up the valley to Pass Gilon at 2480m, taking in panoramic views of green valleys and barren mountains. You'll walk through lively mountain terrain where livestock graze and fields are cultivated. From the pass itself, you can see the snow-capped peaks of the Hissar Mountains. The descent takes you through nice landscapes with potato fields, vegetables, and wildflowers. You'll cross a river and arrive at Gilon village, where you'll stay for two nights with a local family.

  4. Day 4

    Gilon

    You'll spend 5 to 6 hours exploring the surrounding Hissar mountains after breakfast, following an easy well-marked path through valleys with potato and wheat fields. The village's potatoes are well-known throughout the country. Along the way you'll meet friendly locals working the land, climb to a ridge for views of snow-covered mountains and wildflowers, then head back down to the village. In the afternoon you'll have time to observe village life before dinner and an overnight stay with your host family.

  5. Day 5

    Gilon to Samarkand

    After breakfast you'll trek on a well-marked trail over the pass to Kol village, crossing plateau fields and green pastures. You'll see Hazrati Sultan peak at 4075m as you descend into a wide green valley with the Oqsuv River, which means 'white water'. You'll visit some interesting houses built on the mountain slope and meet your drivers with jeeps. From there you'll drive through Hisorak village along the scenic Hisorak reservoir, stopping to enjoy views and take photos before heading to Samarkand.

    The guide was perfect. The accommodation was all right. The planning of the trek could be better. It is more satisfactory to progress from one location to another. Staying at the same place or even coming back retracing our steps_like we did the last 2 days_ is not optimal.

The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
