Itinerary
- Day 1
Cologne
You'll arrive in Cologne and have the morning and early afternoon to explore the city at your own pace before your Rhine cruise departs at 5:00 PM. The city has plenty of historic sites and attractions scattered throughout, so there's room to either take things slow with a coffee and local snacks, or wander around and get familiar with the streets and monuments. By late afternoon, you'll head back to meet your ship and settle in for the journey ahead.

Cochem
The ship pulls into Cochem at 11:00 AM along the Moselle riverbank. From there, you can walk through town and see Reichsburg castle sitting high above the water, which dominates the whole landscape. The Moselle region around here has nice scenery, and if you're interested in something different, there's a chance to visit a secret bunker that was built for the West German federal bank. You'll have time to check out the town before heading back to the ship.

Trier-Mehring
After arriving in Trier at 9:00 AM, you'll find yourself in the Moselle valley surrounded by characteristic vineyards. This UNESCO World Heritage city has many churches, castles, palaces, and historic monuments to see throughout the day. You can wander through the old parts of town, take in the Moselle valley scenery, and learn about the rich history of Rhineland-Palatinate. There's quite a bit of ground to cover here, so pace yourself and hit the spots that interest you most.

You'll wake up early when the ship arrives in Bernkastel-Kues at 6:00 AM. The old town is full of history and culture, and there's plenty to see in the winding streets. Wine tasting is the main event here, so you can try award-winning wines either at wine bars around town, rustic wine taverns where local winemakers host tastings, or by hiking up the steep vineyard slopes surrounding the town. It's a full morning if you want to take advantage of what the region offers.

The ship arrives in Koblenz at 3:00 PM. This city has over 2,000 years of history packed into its streets, which are lined with palaces, grand townhouses, and narrow lanes that feel historic and charming. During the afternoon and evening, you'll get to see the A-ROSA ship sail close to the famous Deutsches Eck headland, where two rivers meet and create a distinctive landmark. There's enough time to walk around and take in the atmosphere before dinner on the ship.

Many people use this early arrival to grab coffee and breakfast before moving on to their next destination.
