- Day 1
Bangkok
You'll land in Bangkok with the afternoon ahead of you before meeting the group at 6 pm. Check out the Grand Palace and Temple of the Emerald Buddha if you want to see some major sights, or wander Khao San Road for something more casual. A Thai massage is another good option to shake off the travel. After everyone gathers for the welcome meeting, head out with your fellow travelers to try street food around the city.

Bangkok
Start at Wat Arun on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, where the Temple of the Dawn sits overlooking the water. The afternoon's free, so you can head to Wat Pho to see the massive reclining Buddha, take a riverboat over to Chinatown, or do a longtail boat trip down the khlongs. Later in the evening you'll board an overnight train heading south toward Surat Thani.

Surat Thani to Khao Sok
You'll arrive in Surat Thani in the morning, then drive by minivan into Khao Sok National Park with its jungle, waterfalls, and limestone cliffs surrounding a lake. A traditional longtail boat takes you out to your raft house on the turquoise water, right in the middle of one of the world's oldest jungles. Keep your eyes open for wild elephants, gibbons, and spectacled langurs around the lake.

Khao Sok to Koh Tao
Wake up in the oldest evergreen rainforest and spend your morning on a longtail boat watching wildlife with mist rolling across the water. After that, either take a jungle hike to see waterfalls or climb up to a viewpoint with panoramic views. You might see elephants, hornbills, or langur monkeys along the way. Later you'll head to Koh Tao, a beach island known for coral reefs and palm-fringed beaches like Sairee. Free time there lets you relax or try optional activities like a cooking class or spa visit.

Koh Tao
Spend the day snorkeling around Koh Tao, starting at Mae Haad Pier and heading south to Shark Island where you might spot leopard sharks. Stop at Luek Bay for some of the best swimming and fish-filled reefs, then have lunch on the boat at Hin Wong Bay. Later, head to privately-owned Nang Yuan Island for a viewpoint hike, beach time, snorkeling past schools of parrotfish, or just relaxing on the boat.

Koh Tao to Koh Samui
After breakfast, take a boat over to Koh Samui, known for white sandy beaches, coral reefs, and coconut trees everywhere. In the afternoon you'll visit Khum Sa-ke Village, which focuses on improving the local eco-environment. Walk their birdwatching route and rice paddies, learn about their waste management and organic gardens, then sit down to a home-cooked dinner with southern Thailand flavors and coconut dishes.

This day is completely up to you. If you want to be active, take a daytrip to Ang Thong Marine National Park to explore about 40 islands, sail past limestone cliffs, and visit the Emerald Lake fed by an underground cave. Prefer staying put? Visit the Samui Elephant Sanctuary to watch elephants roaming and bathing. Or simply find a spot on the beach and relax with a book.
