- Day 1
Arrival in Negombo
Your driver will pick you up at Colombo International Airport and take you to your hotel in Negombo. Once you've checked in and had time to settle, the rest of the evening is yours to walk around Negombo at your own pace and get oriented.

Wilpattu National Park Safari to Sigiriya
After breakfast, you'll head out for a 3-hour safari in Wilpattu National Park where leopards, sloth bears, water buffalo, spotted deer, and various birds are commonly seen. From there it's a drive to Sigiriya, and if the timing works out, you can stop by Dambulla Rock Cave Temple along the way.

Minneriya National Park Safari and Sigiriya Rock Fortress
Following breakfast, you'll spend the morning on a half-day safari in Minneriya National Park looking for large elephant herds (typically 150 to 200, though occasionally reported as high as 700). In the late afternoon, you'll head to Sigiriya Rock Fortress to explore the 5th-century royal palace ruins and take in the views from up top.

Wasgamuwa National Park Safari
After breakfast, a transfer takes you to Wasgamuwa for a 3-hour safari focused on seeing sloth bears, which are most commonly found here in Sri Lanka. You'll also likely spot Asian elephants and over 140 bird species. The rest of your day is free to relax back at the hotel.

Kandy City Tour
You'll transfer to Kandy for a full city tour hitting Peradeniya Botanical Garden, Temple of the Tooth Relic, the upper lake drive, Market Square, and a gem lapidary workshop. There's also a stop at a tea factory to see how Ceylon tea is made and processed.

Nuwara Eliya via Tea Plantation and Horton Plains National Park
Your drive to Nuwara Eliya includes a visit to a tea plantation and factory along the route. Once there, you'll tour the city seeing Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, and Hakkagala Botanical Garden. After lunch, you head to Horton Plains National Park for rolling grassland views and montane forest scenery, then board a scenic train ride from Ella down to Ohiya.

Bundala National Park Safari and Debara Wewa
You'll spend your day at Bundala National Park observing endemic and migrant birds including black-necked storks, bee-eaters, spoonbills, and spot-billed pelicans. Later in the afternoon, you'll visit Debara Wewa, a large water tank where you can spot pheasant-tailed jacanas and painted storks among other rare species.

Whale Watching and Mirissa Beach
An early start takes you to Mirissa for a whale watching tour where blue whales, sperm whales, and dolphins are often spotted. After lunch, you'll explore Mirissa Beach, Parrot Rock Island, and the coconut tree hills, taking in the coastal landscape and atmosphere.

Galle Dutch Fort, Turtle Hatchery and Balapitiya Madu River Boat Ride
After breakfast, you'll drive to Bentota and visit the 17th-century Galle Dutch Fort with its impressive ramparts looking out over the Indian Ocean. In the afternoon, there's a stop at a turtle hatchery followed by a boat ride on the Balapitiya Madu river where mangrove forests, small islands, tropical birds, and possibly crocodiles can be spotted.
