Farahnaz· October 29th, 2025The worst travel experience I’ve ever had – Ancient Egypt Tours My trip to Egypt was supposed to be a 15-day Highlights of Egypt tour, covering Cairo, Alexandria, Aswan, Luxor, and Hurghada, including domestic flights. However, from the very beginning, everything was a complete disappointment. When I arrived in Cairo, Ancient Egypt Tours did not provide me with the detailed itinerary, even though it was supposed to be a group tour. On the day I arrived, I finally received the tour program via WhatsApp — only to discover that the Hurghada part of the trip had been completely removed and replaced with just one “free day.” The tour schedule was poorly organized — one day we had sightseeing, and the next day was completely free with nothing planned. It was like every other day was “free time.” In total, I had four free days in Cairo and one free day in Alexandria, which was a complete waste of time. I joined the tour to explore Egypt, not to spend half of my trip doing nothing. Then I was told I had to pay an additional USD 220 for the flights from Cairo to Aswan and from Luxor back to Cairo. When I explained that these domestic flights were clearly included in the original package, I was told that both Hurghada and the flights were not part of the tour and that I was mistaken. The flight from Cairo to Aswan was booked at the worst possible time — 11:40 p.m. I objected because I was traveling alone and unfamiliar with Aswan, but the lady in charge refused to respond to my messages after we argued about it. I had to contact Khaled, the Cairo tour guide, and he had to message Salwa (the coordinator) on my behalf. I arrived in Aswan around 1:00 a.m. and was transferred from the airport to the hotel in the middle of the desert, late at night, by a tour guide and driver. The stress and fear I experienced during that journey were indescribable. The problems didn’t stop there. When I finally boarded the Nile cruise, I discovered that the ship had been changed without any prior notice. My cabin on the Nile cruise was on the lower deck, where the windows were completely blocked and had a strong smell of dampness, which made it difficult for me to breathe because of my sensitivity to humidity. It was basically the area where the cruise staff were accommodated, not where tourists should stay. It felt unfair and unacceptable to be placed there after paying for a full tour package. I was told the cruise would visit several temples along the Nile, but the entire schedule was rushed and poorly organized. Some of the most important sites were skipped or shortened to just a few minutes By the end of the trip, I completely lost interest in visiting any more sights. The poor organization, constant changes, and lack of care from the agency had ruined all the excitement I initially had for exploring Egypt. To make matters worse, I only had one night in Luxor, My flight from Luxor to Cairo was at 6:30 a.m., which meant I had to be ready by 4:30 a.m. for the airport transfer. The lack of sleep and constant stress had completely exhausted me — both mentally and physically. Overall, the tour was a complete mess — the schedule was changed without any notice, the communication was extremely poor, and the staff often ignored messages and complaints. What was supposed to be a dream trip to Egypt turned into one of the most stressful and disappointing travel experiences of my life. I would never recommend Ancient Egypt Tours to anyone. They were unprofessional, unorganized, and dishonest about what the tour actually included.Show more
