- SSteve· May 26th, 2025Let me start by saying I normally don’t take the time to put a bad review down, but this Gauntlet of a tour Spain, Portugal, Morocco will literally make you feel like your gonna die of exhaustion!! Everyone was sooo tired, and sadly many of them were over the age of 65!!! I’m 55 and I felt like I was going to drop dead. One 85 year old said he’s done with tours. First leaving SFO landing in Madrid at 6:20 am!! They booked this flight and I was exhausted. The hotel tells me they can’t check me in until 3 pm and I should just go walk the town etc. I was like I haven’t slept in 24 hours I need sleep. Sorry no rooms!! The hotels are sooo booked up with tons of tours. So chances are you could run into a problem with your room I’ll explain later. I contacted Wingbuddy to complain and got a sorry that was it. I don’t think they will fix this issue so be warned do not fly into Madrid until after 2 pm so you can check in at 3 pm and not have to wander the streets like a homeless tired person. The tours started very early in the morning because every other day we drove like 4 plus hours on a not so comfortable bus. The Bus holds like 60 people and they often pack it. The seats are not very wide so if you sit next to a heavier set guy good look being comfortable for up to 6 hours some days on the road!!! The tour guide María in Spain seems old probably 70 and so uninterested in her job. She often never talked about things during the drive etc. She would constantly give us important information while we are sleeping on the bus. I have no clue why they don’t text or use what’s app to give everyone the times and instructions etc. Instead they place it on a paper in the lobby but sometimes it’s not there when you look. So you’re constantly asking what time is this and that. The organized trip is the worst. They will manage every minute. You go so fast through cities and sites that you feel so rushed that it hurts your ability to enjoy yourself. I was rushed every single moment of the trip, it felt awful, I’ve traveled for 3 months in Asia alone and did not feel as exhausted as I did with This 21 day tour. I’m not kidding it’s exhausting. So Spain was rushed and it felt like a blur. Portugal pretty much the same. BTW Portugal hates giving you salt or pepper at restaurants and their food it sooo bland. The sites and country is beautiful but food taste lacks big time. Spain has better food but being rushed through it was rough. Once we got to the ferry to go to Morocco. The guide was late getting us there so we missed the ferry and had to wait a couple hours for the next one. The drive from the hotel in Spain to ferry was a couple hours then minimum 3-4 hours dealing with ferry which felt like a disorganized mess. Once across getting on and off the ferry was brutal .. picture 70 plus year olds having to push their own luggage off this car ramp that has stuff on the ground so you struggle to lift your bag rather than roll it easily. I helped a lot of older people with their luggage during the trip. No one helps you!! You do everything yourself with the luggage !!! Morocco was the biggest disaster of the trip. I’m American and English speaking. They put me and two other English speakers on the all Spanish bus!!!! When we complained they said well we already booked your rooms at their hotel etc.. so literally the group we traveled two weeks with was broken up and put on diff buses with the wrong language spoken. They tried to fix it by making us daily switch buses back and forth to English bus for the tour but then making sure to get on the Spanish bus for our hotel rooms!! Seriously idiotic. The two guys Kareem and Mohammed are abbot and Costello !!! No joke it’s a whose on first scenario where no one knows what’s going on. The 85 year old man who booked his own room had to share with two guys and one had to sleep on the couch in the room!! As far as I know he got no apology or credit for that!! I told him to complain that’s ridiculous. The tours in Morocco are all driving in the bus and maybe 1 hour free time !! Just barely enough to eat lunch!! You feel even more rushed in Morocco. The hotels were pretty good except I had one that the AC smelled like sewage and was a handicap room with a nasty shower drain. At this point I knew I was stuck with this, I didn’t use the AC and opened up the window the whole time. During the rush and going back and forth between buses I left my phone in the seat next to me as I was packing up to change buses last second when they told me. So I left my phone and realized just as they dropped me off and took off. I had no contact number for either tour guide in Morocco!! That made zero sense. I had to talk to the front desk and they called several tour guides to try and find how to reach one of them. Kareem tells me he will bring the open at 6 pm to my hotel but I wait in lobby and he says sorry the other guide has your phone but didn’t come so I’ll get it to you tmrw!! I was like no I need it to tell time and set an alarm etc. So they gave it to some tourists I knew and they brought it to me around midnight. They just don’t have it together. Oh also Maria didn’t have a way to contact her in Spain and Portugal as her cellular wasn’t working!!!! What!!! Your a tour guide responsible for 60 people how can you not have contact number!! And don’t bother contacting Wingbuddy they contract out to VPT a transport company in Europe that isn’t that good honestly. I hope Wingbuddy reads this and does something about it but I was told they just don’t care !!!!! Bus has no bathroom, no WiFi, seats go back like a plane seat. Actually you feel like you’re back on a plane seat economy not comfortable for long drives. First week my back was killing me. I started taking meds to deal with the pain. The AC was killing my throat and I got sick when we went back to Spain after the Morocco fiasco. Ohh they take you to stores and places that definitely give them kick backs in Morocco as is the case in many middle eastern countries. I’d rather have free time to Check the town then be stuck in some leather store for hours, also essential oils shop which I had to go outside he put diff smells on every person I got very sick , if your sensitive to strong perfume smells don’t go in there had to wait outside. They also take you to a restaurant on your free time and pretty much make it so you have to eat at the one they picked for you rather than give you the freedom to choose one for yourself. The organized tour is way too controlled for my taste. If you want to wake up at 6 am…. Drive through a panoramic tour which means stay on the bus and if lucky you’ll have a stop for pics (10 min) then keep on rolling. The most exhausting trip I’ve been on by far!!! I could have definitely gotten the same hotels and better food for sure than the buffets we had. If I did it all over again I’d do it alone or do my homework and find a really good tour company, this one is not it!!!! Now for the finally, they wanted me to be ready at 3 am for a 7:15 am flight. I attempted to contact Wingbuddy over a week before I depart to change my pick up time? The guy emails me back but says it needs to be that. I disagree completely with them. I’ve flown a lot a dealer flights like that is empty airports. I thought that was ridiculous, I literally told them forget your shuttle I’ll take my own Uber. And planned to leave like 4:45 am make it to airport by 5 am with zero traffic at that time!!! Can you imagine 3 am!!! Then you get there like 3:15 and sit at airport for 4 hours instead of sleep in bed longer ??? Come on first flight out in the morning airport will not be packed !!! You’re still getting there by 5 am!! So I’m doing it my way now. I literally cancelled the last day rested in the hotel and felt better to fly home. You need like two days before and a week after this tour to feel normal again!!! Good luck !!!Show moreTrip date: May 2025
- ARICHARD DRAZETA· October 25th, 2024I just wish the trip wasn’t so short and spending time on the bus in Spain we spent half the day on the bus poor Maria who had to deal with all the problems! Otherwise I love WingBuddy! ThanksShow moreTrip date: October 2024Review collected by Wingbuddy
- ALINDA BURHANUDIN· September 7th, 2024Many hotels are having issues with AC, not working equipments, and cleanness. The best hotels are American brand hotels due to cleaners and services. - Ali· June 16th, 2024Very bad organization - will never use Wingbuddy again. Told us about 35 tourists, ended up with 110 and 2 buses. Initially didn't know which bus to go on. Because of numbers, checking in hotels, elevators (most hotels only had one working), toilets during breaks, always had long lines. Food was pathetic - same food served every day ! On the last day, they kept us in another hotel and the guide assured us that we will be joining the same group for the last day's tour but he lied knowingly and we never got a chance to say goodbye to our fellow tourists.Show moreWingbuddy commented on this reviewThank you for your feedback Ali. - IDIrena· September 3rd, 2023I’m still on this tour and I seriously can’t wait for this to end. Hotels, with exception of Hilton in Tangier, are all old and dilapidated, some of them are unkept and disgusting, stained and smelly carpets, dirt and mud around the pool areas or hotel lobby, even dirty toilet seats in the hotel room when you check in! Underwear and cigarette butts outside your window, etc etc etc. . . No lotion or hair conditioning, old and warn out everything. The food at the hotels was ok, but their restaurant lunches were horrible; in the land of spices, they were devoid of any taste, you had to ask them even for salt and pepper. Out of about 10 guides, only 2 spike good English, with others you have to always guess what they are saying or simply incomprehensible. One of the guides had us all compile list of our passport data, so all 40 of us were writing our protected personal data on the same list. What would prevent someone in the back of the bus to take a picture and walk away with 40 sets of our passport data? Is it even legal what they are doing?? Most of the time is spent on long bus rides, some of the advertised sites are either closed for renovation, or we don’t get there in the right time. When I and some other people in the group brought it up to the company, they referred us to the local operator, and they replied that nothing can be changed. That’s it. And I thought it was a reputable company with good reviews. Never again!Show moreTrip date: August 2023
- Jasmine· June 24th, 202322-day trip booked with WingBuddy. Spain, Portugal, Morocco Wingbuddy falsely advertised a 4.5 to 5-star vacation but most of the Hotels wouldn’t rate more than 2 to 2.5 stars, and only the Hilton Hotel in Tangiers lived up to its stated rating. The food included was awful maybe 2 stars at best. The 120 people in 1 tour are beyond crazy. Fred seem to care and I can understand, the rest of other tour guides were difficult to understand, plus repeated the same thing over 3-4 times. Multiple unorganized tour guides made the entire trip stressful and difficult. No actual itinerary was ever given to us for the tour. Most of the seat belt receptacles on the bus were falling apart, only some usb charging ports worked on VPT buses. Mundi Maroc advertised WiFi on the back of the bus but no WIFI was ever provided, and we actually have to ask the bus driver to turn on AC, we all felt like sardines. I am so very disappointed with the tour the highlight of this tour in Marrakesh is shopping. The tour guide took us to tourist traps, silk shop, leather factory, spice/pharmacies, but only give us 20 minutes to shop at regular market vendors. I have worked hard for a whole year looking forward to a quality holiday as I read your ads was simply very good that is why I booked. Instead, I feel frustrated, tired, and ripped off from my hard-earned money, and time.Show moreWingbuddy commented on this reviewThank you for sharing your feedback Jasmine. - LLinda· October 24th, 2022The tour was probably the worst I’ve ever been on. Logistically it was crazy as lots of days in a bus for 5-8 hours. We were told there would be 10 on our tour but there was a group from South America with us for part of the tour and the tour directors mostly spoke in Spanish and little in English or any useful information given along the way There was not enough free time as we would travel all day and then arrive at hotel and had to go to dinner The tour director in Spain and Portugal was rude and abrupt and gave incorrect info The tour director in Morocco was helpful in one circumstance but another day turned us over to a tour director in Fez who just took us to stores where he probably got reimbursed for anything sold when we were ready to meet up with tour director discovered he was sleeping it was a waste of the day Most Hoteld were not located close to main city but in residential areas Hotel checkin was total chaos Some were old and moldy Costa del Sol hotels were good but on return promised a relaxing night and arrived later in time for dinner (this after a lengthy ride in bus all day) Food choices at most meals were awful - cold food was not kept cold and hot food not hot Two of the extra tour people in cities were good One bus was filthy and old but they did replace it Day on ferry to Morocco was a nightmare with instructions for filling out paperwork total chaos and person telling us what to do was rude Perhaps Wingbuddy could provide appropriate documents before travel and after arriving in Morocco we spent another long time driving to hotel Bus drivers were great and very helpful We did not receive itinerary until a few days before it would have been helpful to have earlier in order to decide what we wanted to do in each location We were to have transportation to airport on our return home but when we asked tour director about it she acted annoyed and didn’t know anything about it she did make a call and arrange it I think the Morocco part of trip could have been better - lots of driving and quick stop in Casablanca which was fine but seemed like a wasted day being on bus most of the day Too little time allowed for rest stops especially when on bus for 6-8 hours I don’t consider myself a demanding traveler and tours I’ve been on have been superior to this one It makes me sad to look back on the 22 days and have a lot of bad memories which could have been avoided with better organization and planning I will never travel with Wingbuddy againShow moreTrip date: August 2022
