Itinerary
- Day 1
Tambopata National Reserve
After you're picked up from the airport or bus station, a transfer takes you to Monte Amazonico Lodge followed by a boat ride upriver. Once settled in your room, you'll head out on a guided intro hike through the rainforest where you might spot toucans, monkeys, and butterflies. The afternoon brings a trip to Monkey Island to see different monkey species, and later you'll go searching for caimans along the river at night before dinner back at the lodge.

- Day 2
Sandoval Lake
You'll grab an early breakfast and then take a short boat ride to where Sandoval Lake begins. From there it's roughly a 3 kilometer walk to reach the lake, and you'll explore by rowing boat looking for birds, monkeys, giant river otters, and possibly large caimans. A typical lunch happens back at the lodge, then you're out for an evening walk to spot nocturnal wildlife before dinner.

Tambopata National Reserve - Adventure Activities
This day starts at 5:30 a.m. with a canopy walkway that sits 30 meters high, giving you panoramic views of the rainforest and chances to watch birds. After breakfast you'll try zip-lining through the trees with a safety harness and expert instruction, experiencing the rush of being 30 meters above ground. Following lunch, you'll kayak across the Madre de Dios River to catch the sunset, and then try artisanal fishing to potentially catch catfish and other species.

Parrot Claylick
An early morning boat takes you to the parrot clay lick, a clay wall along the Madre de Dios River where different parrot species gather to eat the nutrient-rich clay. You'll see blue headed parrots, dusky headed parakeets, mealy parrots, blue headed macaws, and chestnut fronted macaws. Back at the lodge after a late breakfast, you'll visit a local indigenous family to learn about their daily activities, customs, and traditions.

Departure
After breakfast you'll transfer from the lodge back to the city, then head to the airport and/or bus station for your departure.
