Day 1
Kigali to Akagera National Park
You'll head out from Kigali around 5am for the drive to Akagera National Park, which takes about 2.5 hours. Once you arrive, the morning game drive begins with searching for the big five across the park's landscape. Rhinos, lions, buffalo, leopards, and elephants move through different terrain here, and you'll cover areas around the lakes, swamps, and marshland where these animals tend to congregate. The early start means you'll catch wildlife when they're most active before the heat builds.

Three of us experienced the 8 Days Uganda & Rwanda Gorilla Trekking & Wildlife Tour on a private tour with Devine Tours and could not fault the care we received from our guide/drive, Ema. There were many highlights and seeing the wild life in their natural environment is incredible along with the Gorillas which was a pinch me moment, but I would also like to mention the local people who were memorable due to their constant big smiles and kindness. It was an adventure to remember and one we will talk about for many years to come. If you are thinking of visiting I would highly recommend a private tour with Devine Tours.

Unforgettable Experience in Rwanda and Uganda – Highly Recommend Devine Safaris! My husband and I recently returned from a whirlwind private tour ofAkagera National Park in Rwanda and Bwindi Impenetrable National Forest in Uganda, and we can't stop raving about the experience. From start to finish, Devine Safaris exceeded our expectations. Our guide and driver, Emma, was simply outstanding – knowledgeable, professional, and a joy to travel with. He handled every detail with care, ensuring we were comfortable and informed throughout the journey. His deep understanding of the region’s wildlife, geography, and culture added so much to the experience. Akagera National Park offered breathtaking landscapes and thrilling game drives – we saw elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos in their natural habitat. The park’s diversity and beauty left us speechless. Crossing into Uganda for our Bwindi gorilla trekking was the highlight of our trip. The trek was challenging but absolutely worth it. Coming face-to-face with a gorilla family in the heart of the rainforest is an awe-inspiring, humbling experience we’ll never forget. Despite being a quick trip, everything was well-organized and seamless – from border crossings to park permits and accommodation. We always felt safe and cared for. This tour was good value and a great way to come to Uganda with a short time frame and to see so much more than just doing Gorilla tracking. There were game drives, a boat cruise, and beautiful scenery all around. Both the gorilla and chimpanzee tracking experiences were amazing. I liked that everything was handled for me and as a solo female traveler I never felt unsafe or had any issues. Highly recommend!

Payment information
- For any tour departing before January 28th, 2026 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after January 28th, 2026, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Devine African Safaris Ltd. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 45 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
