The scenery of the fjords, icebergs, glaciers and valleys carved out by the ice were amazing and from another world. Being the only group in some of the treks also creates an idyllic setting. The itinerary alternated between days dominated by trekking versus days with more leisurely walks around towns and ruins in South Greenland, and includes walking on a glacier and kayaking. The guides (Rebecca and Kunuk) were particularly friendly and helpful, assisting with sometimes difficult terrain in treks and getting into and out of the zodiacs (small boats), and also being very willing to try and resolve any difficulties -- e.g. lending travellers minor items of gear. The almost daily zodiac rides (at full speed), which is the main mode of travel between locations and also for viewing the scenery, are much colder than the temperature outside, and warm winter wear is essential.

Great experience seeing the colorful houses of these small settlements in Greenland. We also enjoyed seeing whales, glaciers, icebergs, icefjords, and sledge puppies. Visiting with a native Inuit Greenlander in her home was so educational. There we saw narwhal tusks that her brother had given to her after he caught them. We saw all the handcrafted clothing made by her by hand out of sealskin and beads. At the end of that visit, we were able to purchase some of the crafts she had made. Our guide was very helpful at finding vegan food for us, including making the sandwiches herself for our boating days. The only downside was that sometimes neither the guide nor the hotel seemed to know which meals we had already paid for and were expecting to be part of the package. If I hadn't spoken up, we would have paid twice for two dinners at the hotel. But all in all, I highly recommend this tour.

I'm traveling alone. I don't mind sharing a room with the Gender. I'm curious how much the single room for the entire trip. Is anyone will pick me up from the airport to my hotel?

    • GJ TravelOperatorWritten April 2023

The price for a single room is from 6.030 EUR. For the Iceland part of the tour, you would take the flybus from the airport to your accommodation. But in Greenland you are picked up at the airport. All our Greenland tours are on request, that means we need to check on availability.
