Customer Reviews

  • Stuart
    · November 15th, 2024
We were a family of 7 adults who journeyed through Eastern Turkey on the 8-day Tour. Our tour guide and driver were magnificent, knowledgeable and respectful of our desires and safety. It was magic to watch the sunset over Lake Van, and the Tigris River, to understand why civilization developed in the fertile crescent and eat dinner on a rooftop restaurant in Mardin. It was not until we completed our tour did I realize that two additional nights would have made the tour better. As it was, the tour exceeded my initial goal of adventure and learning but also brought fun and togetherness to the family. Stuart Walton (father of the group) 2nd review Our family recently booked a tour through Turkey, travelling by plane from Istanbul to eastern Turkey and touring this region via private bus. Our guide and driver were absolutely superb and shared a genuine connection with us. We were treated like family, this tour wasn't just another day at work for either of them and we all left with not only a deeper appreciation of Turkey and the origins of humanity, but friends any of us felt like we could call and connect with again next time we visit. Eastern Turkey is full of stark, yet stunning landscapes. Visiting the world's oldest settlements provides a context to human life seen little else on the planet. There were hidden surprises on this tour, books could never illustrate or convey- seeing a stone statue in a book or movie doesn't convey it was built on top of a mountain with no food or water for several days hike and built thousands of years ago- outstanding. I would highly recommend this tour and experiencing eastern Turkey- a much different experience from the big city of Istanbul and western Turkey. You can't go wrong with Turkish food- SO GOOD. Unless maybe you're a vegetarian, in which case Turkey may be a monotonous place to eat. Michael Walton Landscape Architect, ASLA, ISA

This eastern Turkey tour is an excellent overview of a fascinating part of Turkey most tourists don’t get to. After travelling through beautiful countryside along smooth, wide empty highways close to the borders with Armenia, Iran and Syria, the trip finishes at the incredible toppled ruins of Mount Nemrut, a definite highlight of any trip to Turkey. If you want to see the best of eastern Turkey, I highly recommend this enjoyable and off-the-beaten track adventure.

This trip to Eastern Turkey was one of the best i have taken in a lot of traveling. the guides were excellent and the work put in to ensure i saw what i wanted was extensive. I got to see some historic and amazing places that few people currently do. I would recommend the company and the tour to anyone who wants to see more than the usual parts of Turkey.
