- Asad· May 29th, 2025My wife and I has the absolute best experience with Samora Explorers! Our amazing guide Reggie was nothing short of the perfect person to accompany you on a safari. From his friendliness, knowledge of animals, and incredible ability to spot animals, he made our trip a truly unique experience. Because of Reggie we were able to witness a rare lion hunt. He also found a male and female lion mating just outside the Serengeti hidden in the grass. Time after time, Reggie continued to spot animals all over the place. We saw so many lions in unique positions and exhibiting different behaviors. He was able to show us a Rhino in the Ngorongoro crater, and even Vultures tearing into a Zebra carcass. Reggie really went above and beyond to make our safari an unforgettable experience and I would recommend him to anybody in a heart beat! Truly a great guide. You'll find a lot of other overpriced tour companies offering the same package at triple the price. Samora Explorers offered us luxury to mid-level accommodation where we were served 3 course meals for much cheaper than all these other European based companies. They are a local company that actually cares about their employees. So much so that while everyone around us has these sad looking box lunches, we had fresh hot meals and had a bush picnic everyday. Overall, I highly recommend Samora Explorers. They are a great tour company with great guides and I can guarantee that you will not regret booking with them. Thank you to Iddy and Reggie for making our safari trip unforgettable.Show more
- leila· January 19th, 2025Everything was perfect, communicating with Iddy was fluid and easy since the beginning! We are so happy with the hotels, the food (we really appreciate that we had good meals and not just boxes with cold sandwiches), the game drives.. We had a really good time with Regi, he was really the perfect guide and he did his best so that we have an amazing experience! He’s so passionate about nature, warmhearted and funny, we learned a lot with him!Show more
- Andreas· July 25th, 2024Iddy was an unexpected, positive surprise. Not only because he speaks German very well, but above all because of his very helpful and courteous nature and character. After he noticed that we spoke German, he adjusted his plans and accompanied us on the safari tour in addition to his driver. During the trip, he not only shared his detailed knowledge of the country, the animals and the landscape, but also answered every question patiently. The overnight stays in his own Samora River Lodge and in the individual lodges along the way, as well as the food served during lunch breaks in the parks, were excellent. All in all, I will always recommend Iddy and his company Samora Explorers. I would like to thank him, his wife Marlene and his employees Barak, Henry and all those whose names I do not know for the warm welcome.Show more

Andrew
Asked on February 20th, 2023Just a question about kit please. With the temperature varying so much between base & summit, do we need to bring full winter coats/gloves/thermals etc, or do have stuff we can hire? If you have a recommended kit list too that would help please! Lastly, where do you recommend we stay the days before & after your tour - do your people have certain pick up points to collect us from our hotels, or do we just need to make our way to your start point?
- Samora Explorers LtdOperator•Written February 2023
We have a list of all the trekking gear needed, and most of them cost $10 - $15 for each item for the entire trip if you rent from our stores. The hotel that I recommend is called Mrimba Palm Hotel. In this hotel, you will stay the day before the mountain trip and after the mountain trip. We will pick you up and bring you back to any hotel in Arusha or Moshi that you will be staying at.
