Itinerary
- Day 1
Porto
Your trip starts when you arrive in Porto and get settled into your accommodation. At 6 pm there's a welcome meeting where you'll meet your group leader and the other travelers on the tour. After that wraps up, you can join everyone for an optional dinner at a spot your leader recommends, or take the evening to yourself.

Porto
Your leader takes you on an orientation walk so you get oriented to the city. Then you'll head to a port wine tasting to try Portugal's famed fortified wine and learn about it. After that, the day is open and you can wander around on your own. There's plenty to see like the UNESCO-listed Ribeira district with its narrow streets and baroque churches, Mercado do Bolhão market, Clerigos Tower for views across the city, or you can book an optional Douro River cruise on a historic rabelo boat if that appeals to you.

Porto to Coimbra
This morning you'll take a train to Coimbra, a charming river city that used to be Portugal's capital. Your group leader walks you through the Old Quarter and takes you to the University of Coimbra, which is Portugal's oldest university. If you pre-book, you can visit the university library on your own in the afternoon when you have free time to explore. In the evening, there's an authentic Fado performance where you'll hear the sombre, academic-tinged music that's central to Coimbra's culture.

Coimbra to Nazaré
You'll head to the coastal town of Nazaré, which is known for its giant waves. The day starts with a group orientation walk through the fishermen's district where you'll see the open-air boat museum and the dried fish museum. Later, the funicular takes you up to O Sítio, where the Suberco viewpoint gives you panoramic views of the town and the sea. While you're up there, you can visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Nazareth and the Ermida da Memória. In the evening, watch the sunset light up the white-washed buildings and grab seafood dinner together.

Nazaré to Obidos to Lisbon
You'll travel to Obidos, a medieval town north of Lisbon that looks like it's frozen in time. Your leader guides you through the cobblestone streets past whitewashed houses, churches, and various monuments, and you'll see the castle perched behind the fortified walls. With the group you'll sample ginjinha, the local sour cherry liqueur that Obidos is known for. In the afternoon, you'll continue on to Lisbon, Portugal's capital.

Landmarks/POIs Obidos Obidos Castle - Day 6
Lisbon
This morning there's a leader-led orientation walk so you can see Lisbon's striking architecture and get a feel for the city. You'll visit local shops with your group to try pasteis de nata, the Portuguese custard tarts. The rest of the day is yours to do what you'd like, whether that's checking out art museums like the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum or the National Museum of Contemporary Art, taking a day trip to nearby Sintra, or just relaxing. In the evening, join the group for wine and local food while watching the sunset over the city's terracotta rooftops.
