Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Lima
You'll land in Lima and go through customs before your driver meets you at the terminal. From there, a private vehicle takes you to your hotel in Miraflores, the coastal district where you'll be staying.
 - Day 2
Lima City Tour
At 2PM your guide picks you up for a private city tour. You'll see Plaza Mayor and the San Francisco Convent with its cloisters, churches, library, and the tomb of Francisco Pizarro. The frescoes and sculptures throughout are detailed, though be aware the catacombs have low ceilings so watch your head.

Lima to Cusco
Your driver takes you to Lima airport for the flight over the Andes to Cusco, about 1 hour 15 minutes. After landing and clearing customs, you're transferred to your hotel in historic Cusco. After resting and adjusting to the 11,000 feet elevation, you begin your private city tour hitting Koricancha, Sacsayhuamán, Kenko, Pucapucara, and Tambomachay.

Sacred Valley Tour
Following breakfast, your guide and driver head north from Cusco through glaciers, farms, and villages toward the Sacred Valley. You'll stop at Pisac marketplace for handmade crafts and textiles, then optionally hike up to Pisaq ruins. From there, you continue west along the Urubamba River for lunch at a local restaurant. Next comes Ollantaytambo where you'll climb the famous defensive wall, then board a 2-hour train to Aguas Calientes and your hotel near Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu
After breakfast you check out and store your bags at the hotel. Your guide meets you for the 20-minute bus ride up to Machu Picchu's entrance. You get 2 hours with your guide seeing the Intihuatana, Temple of the Sun, and Room of the Three Windows, then explore freely. Sunrise is best as mist rises from the mountain. Later you bus down to Aguas Calientes, retrieve your bags, take the train back to Ollantaytambo, and drive to your Cusco hotel.

You have the day to wander Cusco at your own pace. Check out San Blas neighborhood and the big San Pedro market. An optional private tour of Tipon's water engineering site is available about 1 hour east of the city if you're interested in that.
