Kathmandu
You'll arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu where someone will meet you and take you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and get comfortable at your accommodation.

Lukla to Phakding
After flying to the Lukla mountain airstrip, you'll start trekking north through the forested DudhKosi valley. The trail descends into the valley, and by evening you'll reach Phakding, a small settlement where you'll spend your first night on the trek.

Phakding to Namche
From Phakding, the trek continues with suspension bridge crossings as you enter Sagarmatha National Park. A steep climb takes you up to Namche, the main trading hub of the Khumbu region. On clear days, you'll catch your first view of Mount Everest from here. Namche has a busy Saturday market where local traders and Tibetan yak caravans meet.

Namche
This is an acclimatization day in Namche, where you'll rest and let your body adjust to the altitude. The village sits between two ridges with numerous lodges, tea shops, and souvenir stores around. If you want, you can take a strenuous day hike to higher elevation and come back to Namche to sleep.

Landmarks Namche Bazaar - Day 5
Namche to Tengboche
Trekking from Namche toward Tengboche, you'll pass through the region's most important monastery, the largest in the Khumbu. Tengboche offers yoga and meditation sessions if you're interested. From this location, you'll see Mount Everest, Mount Lhotse, Mount Nuptse, and Mount Ama Dablam all in view.

Tengboche to Dingboche
You'll descend through forest to Devoche and cross the Imja River, then climb steadily through Pangboche, the highest permanent settlement in this valley. After lunch at Shomare, the landscape opens up and you'll cross a wooden bridge where the Khumbu and Imja Rivers meet. A short steep climb brings you to Dingboche by evening, surrounded by high peaks on all sides.

Dingboche
At high altitude, this rest day in Dingboche lets your body acclimatize properly. You'll take short walks around the area and spend time enjoying views of the surrounding mountains without the physical strain of a full trekking day.

Dingboche to Lobuche
Walking past dry stone terraces with mountain views, you'll pass Phulung Karpo, the 1953 Everest expedition campsite, then continue to the memorial. Mount Pumori, Mount Cholatse, and Mount Thamserku come into view as you climb higher. The trail steepens onto the Khumbu Glacier's edge where you'll see memorial cairns for climbers and Sherpas. After hiking along the glacier, you'll reach Lobuche, a larger village with several tea houses.

Lobuche to Everest Base Camp to Gorakshep
Trekking to GorakShep, the site of the original 1953 base camp, you'll then follow the Khumbu Glacier moraine into increasingly rough terrain. After roughly 3 hours, you'll reach Everest Base Camp at the foot of the Khumbu Icefall. You'll have time to walk through the camp and see how climbers operate here, especially during spring climbing season. You'll return to GorakShep to sleep.

Landmarks Gorakshep Everest Base Camp Khumbu Icefall - Day 10
Gorakshep to Kala Patthar to Pheriche
Climbing Kala Pattar in the afternoon or evening gives you sunset views of Everest, and the 2-3 hour ascent is challenging but worth it. From the summit, you'll see Everest, the Khumbu Icefall, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Pumori. After descending, you'll head back through the valley stopping at Dugla, then continue past Ama Dablam's peak to reach Pheriche by evening.

Pheriche to Namche
Mostly downhill walking today, you'll cross the Khumbu Khola on a suspension bridge and follow the Imja Khola to Pangboche. After crossing the river again, you'll climb up through birch and rhododendron forest back to Tengboche. Multiple Himalayan peaks are visible including Kwangde, Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega, and Thamserku. From Tengboche, descend to the DudhKoshi bridge, see water-driven prayer wheels at Phunki Tenga, then return to Namche.

Namche to Lukla
Your last trekking day follows the DudhKoshi back down to Lukla. That evening, you'll celebrate with your Sherpa guides and porters, trying chang (homemade wine) and watching Sherpa dancing. It's a good time to reflect on everything you've experienced during the trek.

Landmarks DudhKoshi River - Day 13
Lukla to Kathmandu
An early morning flight from Lukla brings you back over the mountains to Kathmandu's domestic airport. After being picked up and taken to your hotel, you'll have the afternoon and evening free to shop for souvenirs, eat at restaurants in Thamel, or just rest. Your farewell dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant gives the group a chance to share photos and exchange contact information.
