Itinerary
- Day 1
Kigali to Musanze
Your guide picks you up from your hotel in Kigali and takes you through the city, visiting the genocide memorial site and checking out both the older and newer sections. After that, you'll drive about 2 hours to Musanze and spend time at the Iby'lwacu cultural village where you can experience Rwandan traditions with the Virunga volcanic mountains visible in the distance.

Mount Bisoke Hike
This is an early morning hike on Mount Bisoke focused on learning about primatologist Dian Fossey and her mountain gorilla research. You'll meet your ranger guides at 7am at the park office in Kinigi for a briefing, then drive roughly 30 minutes to reach the mountain base where the trek starts. Walking sticks are provided at no cost, and porters can help carry your bags if needed.

Mountain Gorilla Trekking
After breakfast, you transfer to park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing on gorilla conduct rules before heading into the forest to search for mountain gorillas. The trek itself can take 2 to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are, and you'll spend up to an hour with them once found. In the afternoon, you visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund to learn about gorilla conservation efforts and the scientific research happening there.

Kigali and Departure
You'll have breakfast and check out from your accommodation, then your driver takes you back to Kigali city where you have time to browse local markets for souvenirs. Later, you're transferred to the airport for your flight home.
