    The trip on the Inca trail itself was great, our guide Shandi was amazing and so were the porters (lead by Francisco) and chef! I have so much respect for them all and how much the team helped us get the most out of the experience!

    The Inca Trail was incredible! Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The porters were also fantastic, we felt extremely spoilt the entire way. Intrepid was a great company to book through. It was nice knowing that everyone on the trip was in their 2s and everyone spoke English. The only downfall was that booking through Intrepid was quite a bit more expensive than other tour companies (although the pre and post trek accommodation was nice and Intrepid had everything organized and paid for for us so the extra cost was worth it for me).

    The two guides were fantastic! Especially Cesar Smith Cuba Castilla (""Smithy""). He was very encouraging, and whenever I needed a break he would stop with me and tell me all about the flowers and plants around us. He really made me appreciate the beauty of the Inca trail.

    What is the minimum number of people that this trip will proceed with / would it be canceled if a certain number do not sign up? Also are you able to tell me how many people are currently registered?

      Currently, for the 05NOV2022 dates there are two other guests booked in individually. Our minimum run number is actual one person (so, if there are low numbers our team will reach out to you to check if you still want to go about a month before departure), but this date looks like it will be running regardless.

    Is international flight covered?

You will be responsible for booking your flights to meet with the group at the starting city. We do not recommend booking airfare before confirming your tour. A good website to search for great prices would be kayak.com and/or skyscanner.com

    Are people older than 29 allowed to book this trip or does it have a strict age restriction?

      Unfortunately this tour is only open to persons with ages ranging between 18 and 29. Geckos Adventures creates trip itineraries designed exclusively for younger travellers. They are geared towards active, budget-minded young travellers who want to meet other people from all over the world, and tend to be very popular with university students and backpackers.

    Is this the type of tour that would require bringing your own camping equipment during the trek?

      On this departure you will have 3 nights camping in basic facilities and 2 nights in hotel, you are not require to bring your own tent etc as this is provided for you however you will be required to have a sleeping bag and once you make a booking we can check with Geckos if there is any option to hire one as sometimes they can offer this.

  • Payment information
    • For any tour departing before August 20th, 2025 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after August 20th, 2025, a minimum payment of $400 is required to confirm your booking with Intrepid Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 60 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.
    • Some departure dates and prices may vary and Intrepid Travel will contact you with any discrepancies before your booking is confirmed.
    • The following cards are accepted for "Intrepid Travel" tours: Visa, Maestro, Mastercard, American Express or PayPal. TourRadar does NOT charge you an extra fee for using any of these payment methods.
