An amazing trip and great way to experience a European Christmas and New Years. First time to Europe so was a nice way to visit many countries in a short time frame and on a reasonable budget. Expat were a great company to tour with, and our tour leader and bus driver were wonderful. Highly recommend for solo travellers!

Tour guide and tour was good. Accommodations were shocking, never stayed in that kind of rooms in my entire life. Some places showers were falling apart, could not even open our bags as place was that small.

The hotels need to greatly improve on this type of tour. You’re only there one night the room should be decent, most of the time it wasn’t. Tour guide Gustavo absolutely amazing best guide ever, Alex the driver and D who also was a tour guide excellent staff. During Covid was difficult to travel we encountered many unexpected costs with Covid tests and many of the tour participants were robbed while in Switzerland at the hotel that your company picked and that the owner Carl attended the evenings festivities.

Expat Travel did an unbelievable job of making our tour happen during the pandemic. They made all the necessary adjustments to provide an excellent tour. The tour guides (Dee and Gustavo) were amazing - fun, knowledgeable, organized, patient, flexible. The drive (Alex) went above and beyond. I'm still astounded that we were able to do all that we did. An absolutely fantastic trip!!!!

It was good experience with well organized tour where we covered a lot. 2 issues: 1) very cheap hotels at half the places. 2) not enough time given in some key cities like Budapest, Draj.

I had a great experience on this tour. It was very fast-paced and you feel like you don't get enough time in each country, but that's exactly what you've signed up for. If you don't do any of the optionals, you'll have a lot of free time to do things on your own. Some of the optional guided tours were quite boring and you're better off going on your own. Richard was an awesome guide - very helpful and knowledgeable. Our driver, Barry, was also a pleasure to have on the tour. I loved all the people I met on the tour. Definitely recommend you do this one!

Too little day light for this fast pace tour in winter. Don't feel I had seen the many cities I had visited. It will probably be more value for money in longer day light seasons.

Except for the last 3 days when I got sick and had to leave the group I had a great time. I am 73 and sometimes carting my luggage was a pain but Richard always made sure I had help when I needed it. It was a whirlwind tour but enough of a sampling that I could decide which countries I would like to revisit at a more leisure pace. Richard is a good tour director. He was knowledgable regarding the areas we visited. The highlight of my tour was the concert in Vienna.

We have a set minimum age of 10 for our tours, but we're happy to consider younger children on a case-by-case basis. Just let us know your request, and we'll do our best to accommodate it. • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten March 2024

While Expat Explore cannot assist with booking pre or post-tour accommodation, we recommend Booking.com for affordable accommodation options prior to and after the tour. If hotel information is available, we can provide you with the details in advance so that you can book accommodation at or nearby the start hotel. Please request this by sending a message through on the conversation page.

While Expat Explore endeavours to stay current on all major entry requirements, we are not a registered visa agent. We are, however, able to make things a little easier by providing you with the required supporting documents for a visa application once your tour is paid in full. It is a requirement of the embassies that tours are paid for in full before visa support documentation is requested and applications are made. When you have made the final payment for your booking, simply reach out to our Customer Support Team to request your visa support documents and confirm which embassy you will be applying to.

  • S

    Susan

    Asked on March 21st, 2024

    Is travel insurance compulsory?

    Travel Support
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten March 2024

It's your responsibility to arrange sufficient travel insurance for your trip. When you travel with Expat Explore, both you and your personal belongings do so at your own risk. A comprehensive insurance policy should cover medical expenses for illness or accidents before or during the holiday, as well as reimbursement for lost holiday funds due to cancellation, curtailment, or other insurable events. Make sure there are no exclusions that would limit coverage for the activities included in your tour.

We generally recommend WorldNomads because they cover a wide variety of nationalities, but you are welcome to use any supplier that offers you the most comprehensive plan.

You are able to obtain travel insurance through one of TourRadars partners, XCover. Please reach out to receive a quote.

  • S

    Stephanie

    Asked on March 21st, 2024

How fit do I need to be to join and what is the average age range?

    Age Range
    • Expat Explore TravelOperatorWritten March 2024

We embrace travelers of all ages and backgrounds, prioritizing attitude and mindset over age restrictions. However, our tours are fast-paced and jam-packed with experiences. Regrettably, individuals with mobility limitations or those using wheelchairs may find this tour challenging. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring quaint towns and navigating cobblestone streets. We want every traveler to fully enjoy their journey, so we encourage reviewing the itinerary carefully before making your booking decision.
