- Tania· October 2nd, 2024An amazing trip and great way to experience a European Christmas and New Years. First time to Europe so was a nice way to visit many countries in a short time frame and on a reasonable budget. Expat were a great company to tour with, and our tour leader and bus driver were wonderful. Highly recommend for solo travellers!Show moreTrip date: December 2023
- AAnonymous· October 1st, 2024Such a brilliant trip and experience. Met amazing people from around the world. Jemma and Florin were excellent! We’d love to plan another trip with Expat ExploreShow moreTrip date: December 2023
- SLSanjeev· January 9th, 2023Tour guide and tour was good. Accommodations were shocking, never stayed in that kind of rooms in my entire life. Some places showers were falling apart, could not even open our bags as place was that small.Show moreTrip date: December 2022
- MOMaria· January 7th, 2022The hotels need to greatly improve on this type of tour. You’re only there one night the room should be decent, most of the time it wasn’t. Tour guide Gustavo absolutely amazing best guide ever, Alex the driver and D who also was a tour guide excellent staff. During Covid was difficult to travel we encountered many unexpected costs with Covid tests and many of the tour participants were robbed while in Switzerland at the hotel that your company picked and that the owner Carl attended the evenings festivities.Show moreTrip date: December 2021
- LCLizabeth· January 7th, 2022Expat Travel did an unbelievable job of making our tour happen during the pandemic. They made all the necessary adjustments to provide an excellent tour. The tour guides (Dee and Gustavo) were amazing - fun, knowledgeable, organized, patient, flexible. The drive (Alex) went above and beyond. I'm still astounded that we were able to do all that we did. An absolutely fantastic trip!!!!Show moreTrip date: November 2021
- RGRakesh· January 15th, 2020It was good experience with well organized tour where we covered a lot. 2 issues: 1) very cheap hotels at half the places. 2) not enough time given in some key cities like Budapest, Draj.Show moreTrip date: December 2019
- Ivy· January 13th, 2020I had a great experience on this tour. It was very fast-paced and you feel like you don't get enough time in each country, but that's exactly what you've signed up for. If you don't do any of the optionals, you'll have a lot of free time to do things on your own. Some of the optional guided tours were quite boring and you're better off going on your own. Richard was an awesome guide - very helpful and knowledgeable. Our driver, Barry, was also a pleasure to have on the tour. I loved all the people I met on the tour. Definitely recommend you do this one!Show moreTrip date: November 2019
- MOMee· January 11th, 2020Too little day light for this fast pace tour in winter. Don't feel I had seen the many cities I had visited. It will probably be more value for money in longer day light seasons.Show moreTrip date: December 2019
- DSDiana· January 10th, 2020Except for the last 3 days when I got sick and had to leave the group I had a great time. I am 73 and sometimes carting my luggage was a pain but Richard always made sure I had help when I needed it. It was a whirlwind tour but enough of a sampling that I could decide which countries I would like to revisit at a more leisure pace. Richard is a good tour director. He was knowledgable regarding the areas we visited. The highlight of my tour was the concert in Vienna.Show moreTrip date: December 2019

We make every effort to include local cuisine on our tours to ensure an authentic experience for you. You'll receive an email before the tour begins, where we'll ask for your dietary preferences. We always have a vegetarian option, and we'll work hard to accommodate any other dietary needs or preferences you may have.

Asked on March 21st, 2024Do I need to exchange cash before I leave?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2024
Contactless payment is widely accepted across Europe – it’s best to bring a payment card with no overseas withdrawal fees.
* Keep in mind that certain optionals are payable in cash to your tour leader whilst on tour. We suggest that you talk to your Tour Leader about when & where to draw cash to pay for the optional excursions.

Asked on March 21st, 2024If I wish to stay longer in the start or end destination, will Expat Explore assist with pre/post-tour accommodation?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2024
While Expat Explore cannot assist with booking pre or post-tour accommodation, we recommend Booking.com for affordable accommodation options prior to and after the tour. If hotel information is available, we can provide you with the details in advance so that you can book accommodation at or nearby the start hotel. Please request this by sending a message through on the conversation page.

Asked on March 21st, 2024Can Expat Explore issue me with a visa?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2024
While Expat Explore endeavours to stay current on all major entry requirements, we are not a registered visa agent. We are, however, able to make things a little easier by providing you with the required supporting documents for a visa application once your tour is paid in full. It is a requirement of the embassies that tours are paid for in full before visa support documentation is requested and applications are made. When you have made the final payment for your booking, simply reach out to our Customer Support Team to request your visa support documents and confirm which embassy you will be applying to.

Asked on March 21st, 2024How much spending money do I need for my holiday?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2024
This is up to you and will vary depending on how much you wish to spend on snacks, drinks, souvenirs etc. We do not include entrance fees to attractions and museums. We do, however, provide you with free time to see everything you want, and our tour leaders will have all the information on pricing and locations so you can manage your own budget. Please refer to your tour-specific pre-departure information and optional excursions guide for further details.

Asked on March 21st, 2024Is travel insurance compulsory?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2024
It's your responsibility to arrange sufficient travel insurance for your trip. When you travel with Expat Explore, both you and your personal belongings do so at your own risk. A comprehensive insurance policy should cover medical expenses for illness or accidents before or during the holiday, as well as reimbursement for lost holiday funds due to cancellation, curtailment, or other insurable events. Make sure there are no exclusions that would limit coverage for the activities included in your tour.
We generally recommend WorldNomads because they cover a wide variety of nationalities, but you are welcome to use any supplier that offers you the most comprehensive plan.
You are able to obtain travel insurance through one of TourRadars partners, XCover. Please reach out to receive a quote.

Asked on March 21st, 2024How fit do I need to be to join and what is the average age range?
- Expat Explore TravelOperator•Written March 2024
We embrace travelers of all ages and backgrounds, prioritizing attitude and mindset over age restrictions. However, our tours are fast-paced and jam-packed with experiences. Regrettably, individuals with mobility limitations or those using wheelchairs may find this tour challenging. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for exploring quaint towns and navigating cobblestone streets. We want every traveler to fully enjoy their journey, so we encourage reviewing the itinerary carefully before making your booking decision.
