The only thing that saved me from this trip is the guide, great attitude of the guide and always wanting to help. The itinerary is not good, the hike seems like it is for 8 year old children, 3 hours one day and 4 hours the next. I think in Ching Mai there are more things to do than what they simply propose. And please, charge 10 dollars more and include all transportation.

In the tour I had some control over what I wanted to do and see. Also my tour guide was excellent in helping my group feel like we were part of Thai culture.

The organization- I did not have to worry about a single thing. From the moment I met with my leader I was in excellent hands. Never rushed, or stressed for any reason. Always knew what to expect. The Tour leader- even if I hadn't been grouped with such a small but might crew of hilarious people from across the world, I would have been happy to just hang out with my tour leader Rainy the entire time. She was not only a local, extrmeley knowledgable, and possessing of a great personality- she was close in age to me as well and felt almost like a fellow groupee. We WANTED her to come to dinner with us and come out with us because she was so much fun! Accommodations- this tour was considered ""basic"".....I can't even imagine what a ""premium"" tour would provide. Accommodations and transportation were more than comfortable and Especially convenient.

This tour was a fantastic taste-test of Northern Thailand. We got doses of history, culture, and modern attractions. There was a lot of time spent on the road as we traveled between destinations, but even that wasn't terrible because we got to see lots of the countryside. Our guide, fondly called "Rainy", was absolutely fantastic! She helped us book additional services, alternative day tours, and helped us find different attractions in whatever area we happened to be. She also divulged a wealth of information about different historical/cultural sites along the way. I left the tour a day early because I wanted to stay in Chiang Mai long enough to see the Lantern Festival over New Year, and Rainy helped me get a ride to my hotel even as the rest of the tour was boarding the night train back to Bangkok. Overall a wonderful tour, lots of fun, but give yourself enough financial wiggle room for a few extra activities and you'll enjoy it even more :)

James was a great guide, gave us great advice, answered all of our questions, and helped accommodate my dietary needs (vegetarian). The tour was as expected, saw a lot of great locations at a good/slow pace. I know there would've been no way for me to figure out how to get to/get around the more remote locations in the north and I am glad I chose to go with a tour. It is definitely a lot of busing around so make sure you download all those netflix shows.
