- Day 1
Marrakech
Your driver meets you at Marrakech airport and takes you to your hotel. After you check in, the rest of the day is yours to settle in and get comfortable. Start wandering around the neighborhood if you want or just relax at your accommodation.

Marrakech
A local guide takes you through Marrakech's key sites this morning. You'll see Bahia Palace with its beautiful gardens, then head to the Saadian Tombs and Koutoubia Mosque. The day also includes Jamaa El Fna, the main marketplace square where things get pretty lively. After lunch you have free time on your own to wander around and check out whatever interests you.

Marrakech to Boumalne Dades
This is an early start across the High Atlas Mountains. You'll pass through small Berber villages and climb up to Tickha peak for the mountain views, then continue to Ait Ben Haddou, a 17th-century kasbah that's been in a bunch of movies. After lunch near the kasbah you tour Kasbah Taourirt, then drive through the Rose Valley heading toward Boumalne Dades where you'll stay the night.

Boumalne Dades to Merzouga
After breakfast you travel toward Merzouga, heading through the Todra Gorge with its limestone river canyons cutting through the High Atlas. Then you pass through the oasis town of Erfoud before reaching the Sahara Desert. Late afternoon brings a camel ride at sunset to your private camp, followed by dinner and a campfire. You'll sleep in a tent under the stars.

Merzouga
Get up early to watch the desert sunrise from camp. After breakfast the camels take you back from the tent area. Then you spend the full day on a 4x4 excursion exploring the Erg Chebbi dunes and other desert areas. You'll have a traditional Medfouna lunch included, then free time to explore on your own. Later you head to a hotel in Merzouga for the night.

Merzouga to Fes
After breakfast you drive to Fes, traveling through the Ziz Valley and passing Errachidia and Midelt. The route takes you through cedar forests where Barbary macaques live, and you'll see Ifran with its alpine-style buildings and ski slopes. You should arrive at your Fez hotel by early evening.

Fes
A full guided day exploring Fes starts after breakfast. You'll visit Madrasa El Bouinania from the 14th century, then the El Quaraoiyin mosque and university, one of the world's oldest educational institutions still operating. The itinerary also includes the South tower, a pottery village, Nejjarine square, and the royal residence. Free time in the afternoon to explore on your own.

Fes to Chefchaouen
You head out toward Chefchaouen after breakfast, stopping first in Meknes to see the Bab Mansour gate with its beautiful arches and mosaics. Then it's on to Volubilis, the former capital of the Mauretanian kingdom. By afternoon you're in Chefchaouen exploring the blue-washed old town, Place Outa el Hammam square, the 15th-century Kasbah with red walls, and the octagonal minaret nearby. The evening is free for you to walk around.

Chefchaouen
A guide takes you to Akshour waterfalls today, located in the Rif Mountains near Chefchaouen. The waterfall sits in a turquoise pool surrounded by the mountains. The walk to reach it covers about 5.5 kilometers on an easy trail, and it's a nice way to spend the day in nature. After exploring you have free time back in town, and you stay another night in Chefchaouen.

Chefchaouen to Tangier
You travel to Tangier after breakfast. Once there you explore the whitewashed medina and visit Dar el Makhzen palace, now a museum with Moroccan artifacts. The American Legation Museum comes next, housed in an 1821 Moorish-style building that was once a consulate and shows early U.S.-Morocco ties. Later you see the Hercules Caves with their unique African-shaped opening, and tour the Kasbah Museum set in a former sultan's palace with Andalusian gardens. The caves sit 1000 feet above sea level overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar.

Tangier to Casablanca
You travel toward Casablanca with a stop in Rabat on the way. In Rabat you visit the Oudaya Kasbah (a UNESCO site) and Hassan Tower, the minaret from an incomplete 12th-century mosque built by the Almohads. You'll also see the Mohammed V mausoleum with tombs of three kings. Then you continue to Casablanca to check out Mohammad V Square with its French Colonial architecture from 1916, and the Hassan II Mosque finished in 1993. The mosque is the second-largest in Africa with the second-tallest minaret at 210 meters.

Casablanca to Essaouira
After breakfast you head to Essaouira along the coast, passing through El Jadida, Mazagan, and Safi. Once you arrive in this coastal town, the rest of your day is free to explore at your own pace.

Essaouira
This is a free day in Essaouira for you to explore however you like. The town attracts windsurfers from April through November. The fortified medina has galleries and small shops, and you can watch traditional fishing boats and nets at the port. The city has an interesting cultural mix if you want to just wander around and soak it in. Optional activities and restaurants are scattered throughout.

Essaouira to Marrakech
You head back to Marrakech around midday. The afternoon and evening are free for you to relax at your hotel or walk around the city before your final night.

Your tour ends with a transfer to either Marrakech or Casablanca airport for your departure.
